I've been looking forward to watching this video over the last few days!! Wow, bloody awesome effort mate!! Ingredients are almost perfect, the only difference to what I do, is I use much more mayo and use dead horse AKA tomato sauce (ketchup) instead of BBQ sauce. I prefer to slice my onion a little bit thinner and caramelise it a lot more (think a dark brown colour) for a richer flavour and with the steak I let it rest, slice it up thinly, put it back on the grill, add cheese, let the cheese melt and then onto the bread. But honestly, I wouldn't turn my nose up if I was handed this at an Aussie BBQ. Also, quick pro tip to earn major Aussie street cred, when pronouncing Sanga, try Ss - ang (like you're pronouncing bang without the b) - ah . Really love your channel, a massive thanks for taking the time to make such awesome content for us 🍻

Got recommended this video just now...but watched quite a few of your old vids when I first bought my new Weber. Honestly shocked that we make up 35% of your viewership... Clearly we have an obsession.. Oh and it's pronounced "sang-ah", had to double-take when you said it because I had no idea what you were talking about haha!

Nice work Jerry, and happy Australia Day on the 26th. Can't say I've ever had pineapple on a steak sandwich, but hey, why not? We just now need to work on your accent - Sanga is pronounced like "I sang a song" with a soft G. Haha. Thanks for thinking of us mate.

Way to go Gerry👍. A slice of Bega cheese is an option. I hope you do get back to Oz, I’m sure you will enjoy it, maybe a few 🇦🇺🦘bbqs? We will have you burning steak like an Aussie in no time( 3-4 🍺). How’s the Vegemite supply I’ve in the US? It’s in short supply in Oz😳
@ChicagoGriller

Thanks for the suggestion! Yup a slice of cheese could be added - I did it for the burger version but opted without cheese for this one. Vegemite is not easy to find in store, I’ve never seen it but supposedly specialty shops have it. I got mine from Amazon.

The most important part of eating ANY Aussie Buger or Steak Sanga - you need to sit down, spread your knees apart and LEAN FORWARD when eating it ... otherwise you will wear half of it and ruin your shirt and your missus won't be impressed when she see's it in the washing basket!! ;) Top stuff mate. Looks pretty bloody good. I would use a thinner steak so its easier to chew through ... and cut the onions a bit thinner and cook them longer, you want them nice and brown and soft. Normally we'd pour a bit of beer on them while cooking to help caramalise them (or any fizzy drink really if you dont drink beer). We also butter our bread on the outside when toasting it on the grill to get it nice and golden with a crunch. Awesome work cobber ;)

Terrific suggestions! This was my first go at it, and yes, the steak used was definitely too thick. While tasty, it was a bit of a challenge to eat. I surprisingly haven't tried this again since, but from all you Aussies that commented I'll definitely have to give it another go soon!
