This is a re-mastered video from 4 years ago with my young friends, Cam Cronin and Tom Crittenden.
"The planning for this trip started months and months ago. I knew I wanted to shoot a decent bass report and I wasn't going to do it half assed. This required me to sacrifice my rod for a heavy rucksack full of camera gear. Tom and Cam were gonna have to catch the fish, and I was there to catch the action.
My bag contained a Canon 5Dmk3, a Canon 60D, an Underwater Camera housing, dry bags, three lenses, spare batteries, reflector, monopod and water. No food - food was forgotten. 8 hours and 6km of bushbashing later I regretted that misstep.
We all met at 6am and started our walk in. As soon as we got to the base of the valley Tom started throwing around Megabass Sigletts in the hope of identifying if the fish were in the mood for some surface action. That was quickly disproved and both Tom and Cam switched to TT Jig Spinners and Zman Grubs.
Cam was the first off the mark with a tiny bass. Tom followed suit and hooked up to a decent fish which managed to brick him quickly at his feet. Not to be dismayed Tom kept casting and was next on again.
The day ticked forward steadily with both Tom and Cam scoring fish on the Jig Spinners. Tom was unimpressed by his lack of surface takings so moved back to his Siglett. This was when Cam powered through bagging many more fish than Tom
The kicker of the day came when Cam cast into a deep bend of the creek. Out came a cracker wild bass at 42cm.
That's all folks"
