I suspect the apartment probably wasn't in his name or anything that could be legally linked to him so it's probably harder to get a warrant. I'm sure after he got arrested who's ever name it was in they pressured and threaten to make them a codefendant so they would get them cooperating or at least give consent to search it but I'm from the US I don't know that much about Australian law but that's what I suspect. As for the supplier, that's a good question I would definitely worry less about the customers and more about his supplier if I was a cop at least lol

They contradict themselves in this documentary a lot. They mention selling 1 gram "hits", that is why he needed the scale, then later they say he had 1.3 million dollars and over 5 kilograms of cocaine in his apartment. He would be far from king pin selling 10 grams. He would be barely one step above the guys selling $10 bags on the street. A kingpin would be selling it by the kilogram. However he had 1.2 million on him. he didn't make that selling 10 grams at a time. 10 grams of cocaine goes for around 300 or 400 in the USA. Of course this documentary also said "Scales are tools of the trade when you are selling 1 gram hits of cocaine." He definitely didn't make 1.2 million selling 1 gram hits of cocaine for 50 to 60 dollars. Secondly, 1 gram isn't a hit of cocaine. If somebody did a gram all at once, they better be young and have a healthy heart. People do a gram over the course of an evening, but not in one hit. It lets me know the writers of this documentary do not know what they are talking about, and they didn't do much research.
@ymatT601
4 жыл бұрын
Bretton Ferguson Dude it’s Australia, the title of the episode/series is “Australian Drug Lords”, drug prices here are amongst the highest in the world. Cocaine sells for $250+ a gram. The gram “hits” he is selling is typical of what most people purchase to use over the course of a night, it’s probably not the best use of vocabulary (as yes, it does suggest to anyone not familiar with recreational cocaine/drug use the amount is used in a single dose) but most people get the picture. Still it’s the equivalent to purchasing a “serving” of food or drink, you’re not typically going to consume an entire serving in a single bite/sip just because of how the label is worded. The seller may not fit everyone’s definition of a “drug lord” but he does met the main criteria of being an individual who was responsible for the distribution of a large quality of drugs through a organised network (he trafficked & supplied dealers). He absolutely could have accumulated that sum of cash through supplying salable amounts starting at a gram (by far the most common quantity sold) to recreational users to larger amounts starting at 10gs+ to dealers/suppliers. If he didn’t tap into the one off recreational users typically purchasing from 1g-3.5gms he’d miss the most substantial concentration of clients, this does not revoke his eligibility of being able to be considered a king pin it actually enhances it!
@ymatT601
4 жыл бұрын
Bretton Ferguson The writers of the show intentionally sound naive with their use of drug related vocabulary they as to not hint at being drug users/abusers themselves, it’s an important ploy used by mainstream media.

I'm sure by the time a key gets to Australia wholesale price is what $25,000 or more? I live just a few hundred miles from Mexico. An uncut key cost about $16,000 - $18,000. If this guy was selling it by the gram @ $100.00 he must not have cut it that much but an Australian probably wouldn't know if it was 20% coke and 80% cut. Here $100.00 gram doesn't exist, that's laughable. Hell 1/4 oz. good quality cost $250.00 and a good oz. cost $800.00 - $1,000.00. He would have to have A list clients to get away with those prices, what a joke. As well as the way he did business another joke. That safe house should have been cleared out before he bounded out or right after from his loyal fall guy (maybe he didn't have one) another bad business move on his part. If the safe house would have been clean then he wouldn't had looked like a King Pin. Once they found the key from Peru that's what did him in for twelve yrs.. A very careless druggie that was rich. The real King Pin (the guy above Richard) is still free because he's not careless and probably doesn't use the drug. Just my opinion and guessing.

cen tral cali 8 ball is as low as 80 bucks if you know the right people who know the RIGHT people.... 150 a qt oz and 550 an oz. maybe not the best stuff ever but still decent product..... easy money if you can sell 60 dollar grams to easy marks who don't know about prices or what REAL good quality coke is, maybe out of towners, or youngers, or people just plain desperate for dope.......... meth is even more lucrative if you know the right peeps, its dirt cheap wholesale and up to 10x your money back on the return. "allegedly" *wink wink* the real australian "drug lords" are the asians who smuggle in the 10 ton shipments of heroin... and the italian ndranghetta mafia who buys up the wholesale coke from the south-americans who ship it over in subs or cargo boats by the trailer load.

ausraider LOL you guys are getting ROBBED at least by our standards in the western/southern United States. The average price here per gram is as low as 40$ (in rare cases even 30$) and up to about 60$ ...or maybe 70$ if the guy has really good shit or is just a greedy dickhead.

The reformed troll formerly known as Zen Master It depends on the quality, indoor / outdoor, and who your're buying from (various other factors) including location (west coast CHEAP east coast very EXPENSIVE)... In about a dozen states in the US we have "medical marijuana dispensaries" and 2 states which have LEGAL recreational use dispensaries..which have great variety, quality control (the bud gets tested for pests and mold, as well as its THC%) however they charge a higher price per Oz. ranging from about $150 for their lowest grade all the way up to $400 for the highest grade best quality weed you can find....... The price on "The Street" per Oz. (again depending on the quality and who you know and the location) West coast, ranges from about $60 to $70 for the lower-mid grade outdoor stuff (the stuff no one really wants), and around $100 to $140 - $150 for the average decent weed, and up to about $180 - $280 for the very high grade indoor rare stuff.... However if you buy by the Pound you can get the price per Oz. to drop nearly in half. For example, recently a friend of mine *wink* got a Pound of very decent quality outdoor Sour Diesel bud (west coast California), the Pound cost about $1,350 which is about $85 per Oz., while that same stuff purchased in Oz. weight alone would have cost him about $140 to $150 for the Oz. or about $80 for the half Oz. So after breaking down the whole Pound and selling it in 1 Oz. half Oz, quarter Oz, 8th Oz. and Dub/Dime sac increments... He nearly tripled his investment. That same bud per Pound in NY or Chicago would have cost about anywhere from $1,850 at the very lowest up to about $3,000 - 3,200 at the highest, Oz. would then be sold from about $200 to $300 ... And in SOME areas of the US (Arkansas for example) where marijuana is still 100% ILLEGAL and considered a "schedule 1" drug (in same category with cocaine, heroin, and meth) that same Pound of weed would sell for about $5,000 ...which is OUTRAGEOUS!

12 years for the harmless crime of selling coke to other adults and he probably still wasnt even that big a part of or a major player within that trade......and yet pedafiles, rapist's and other more violent criminals usually get much much less as a punishment for their crimes eg. last year in which a man who climbed through a bedroom window and assaulted a girl aged 10 years and two weeks was subject to a maximum of only 10 years' jail. Had the offence occurred before she turned 10, he would have faced up to 25 years' jail. Instead, he was sentenced to nine years for sexual penetration and aggravated burglary..Read more: www.theage.com.au/national/tougher-sentencing-for-child-sex-offenders-20090923-g2ou.html#ixzz2y3ZKoMHn and that 9 years we was sentenced to would of been the maximum time he would serve meaning he most likely would be eligible for parole much earlier and possibly (very likely) not even serve 3 quarter's of that 9 years anyway......show's how much the 'system' (police, governments and bank's) care about us, the people within our society's and how much they care about protecting the drug trafficing/drug trade they more than likely a part of or if not control anyway and the stupid brainwash people who disagree with me that they, being the (police, governments and bank's) dont control the majority if not the entire part of the major drug trade ask your self this, why cant a normal everyday person get a can of deodorant on board an airplane whist hijackers are able to get box cutters into the cockpit during the 9.11 attacks>?? or even though it ended up crashing, what was the cia doing with an airplane flying towards north america loaded with 5 or 6 tones of coke?? or here is one for us australian's, why the hell was the victorian police drug squad selling the main ingredients to manufacture drug's like ice,speed and even extacy to mark and jason self proclaimed gangsters and members of the imfomous Moran family befor they wer both killed in the melbourne gangland war?? they call it a war on drugs but it will never be over, no one will ever win this war and the sad thing is many lives are ruined in direct relation to this stupid war. people are murdered, assaulted in every way possible, houses broken into, robbed on the street ect. ect. all for the chemicals and herbs/plants that we consider illegal drugs which most wer created by the govenments anyway!!! and then the non violent drug user or low level drug dealer ss punishment for their non violent and usually non harmful action's are sent to jail with other more violent and sick mined criminals for periods of time we dont even hand to the sick low life scumbag fuck's we call pedefiles how does that make any sense?? fuck this world lol

Totally agree with you man, this war on drugs costs us a shit load of money as well, for the police, investigations, legal process and the cost of prisons. Not only that it provides criminals and underground crime groups a way to make shit tons of money. What i always find funny is the law enforcement and drug dealers a like both think drugs should stay illegal! Something not right about that.

This is just the title police use to make themselves seem better to people who dont know anything about anything. Aussie police ride the ego horse quite hard while they bust petty theives and small time dealers. They also miscalculate the prices of the hauls they find, to distort peoples vision even further. Like "this pound of lethal marijuana we seized is estimated at a street price of 13 million dollars, we have stopped the flow and supply of life threatening drugs onto our streets. We are the best" Every aussie drug seizure ever.

Ok I watched the end and well, I eat my words. I am still in absolute SHOCK though that a person selling millions and millions of dollars worth of cocaine was running an operation on on the frontlines himself. Here in the west, guys who reach that level of dealing completely distance themselves from the drugs and are never caught in the same room with the stuff - let alone driving around all day selling 1 gram bags. If Richard was smarter, he would not have been caught like that
