I feel so bad for Aussies for having been represented like that in a very exciting sport like breaking. I love breakdancing and it gave me so much disappointment to see Raygun's performance. Hearing that she's the best breakdancer and a legend in your country in the breaking community, leaves a bad taste in all Aussies. I hope she does not define the best dancer there is in Australia.

She found the easiest path and flew under the radar. The Australian News Media didn’t question her qualifying performance prior to the Olympics that’s been on YT since November last year. 😂😂😂 No-one has a YT Video called “WTF! Is Australia sending to Paris?” She would have gone Viral before the games, but the internet was in Sleep Mode. 😂😂😂

So I’m commenting almost a month after this video was uploaded and a lot has come out about Rachel and her husband and how they basically engineered the fact that she’d make it to the Olympics while there were more capable dancers trying to go. It’s disgusting and I hope there are repercussions so it sends a message to anyone else getting the idea to try and pull this off in the future.

Those were rumors and have been debunked. She qualified fair and square. The scene of bgirls that compete in oceania is really small and not on par with the rest of the world. She didn’t have anything to do with funding decisions, she does not own ausbraking nor anyone in her family. If anything she was on tv promoting the qualifier and encouraging people to compete. If better dancers couldn’t or didn’t want to go to the qualifier it is not her fault.

I also feel like people forget that the Olympics are a completely different kind of beast from what is typical...it's an opportunity for countries to be represented that have zero chance of winning, but they are still actually represented. I feel like she is an example of this, and that is ok, and also what makes the Olympics special. In cycling, there are countries that are never represented in regular races, but they ARE in the Olympics and they get lapped numerous times or whatnot...but they are there, doing their best and wearing their countries' colors. That means something.

kzitem.info/news/bejne/22qE16ieoX2Xo6Q From this video, it becomes clear that it's called "breaking" and not break dancing, fyi. I'm also pretty sure that the "points" come from one of the judges saying that the person won the battle or, at least, won the category that is being judged. So I don't know if it means so much that it was upgradable vs that just all of the judges agreed that the competitor won the battle. I found this re the scoring and I also watched some of the finals so I saw it as well: "Competitors were judged on five categories: Technique, execution, musicality, originality and vocabulary. The scoring is fairly subjective, with each judge simply voting for the B-boy or B-Girl who they think performed best in each category. There is no numerical scoring system like you might see in figure skating or gymnastics."

I think the point A lot of people are missing and probably why so many black people made some of this especially blacks from America is this is our culture and if anybody did Irish dance a traditional Irish dance and went out there and just made up stuff did you follow the rules to what a traditional Irish dance should be and didn't even try they would be upset but once again it shows that if it belongs to black people then it belongs to the world and we get no credit for it and nobody cares if it gets destroyed like people get to laugh and we're left holding a soggy bag but it was about the culture
