Again, the concern is that Nike is just trying to make a buck and if everyone ditches the core skate companies, there will be no one if the skate market crashes again. To be fair, Nike has been giving a lot back to skateboarding like the awesome new LES skatepark in New York. I'm kind of neutral on all of it, I buy from whoever makes the best stuff and isn't overwhelmingly bad as a company whole.

Hate from the past, mostly. IIRC, Nike got into skateboarding years ago and then dumped in when the popularity waned. Basically, the most hardcore don't trust Nike to be around if skateboarding's popularity decreases, thus, they prefer to support the skater-owned companies that will be around until they have to declare bankruptcy.

So the problem is that they are putting too many good skaters under the same brand? I don't think that's a problem for us as much as for other skate companies. And that shouldn't matter to Nike, they are a business e.g. for profit. I'm not debating whether they are making money or not. Apparently they are, but to say that means they don't care about skating is an ignorant comment. I support whoever helps the sport progress. And by the way, don't get me started on Adio and their inferior shoes...

well maybe if they didn't make a ridiculous amount of money like all other pro athletes out there then they wouldn't have built up such a lifestyle to where they needed t move back in with their parents. don't get me wrong, theyre def worth good money but athletes today make such a stupid amount of money. it just shows how bad we are at prioritizing money

Nike is a huge corporation that dominates all industries, and now skateboarding. its like, rooting for the lakers or the yankees, they win all the time, so people like them, but there are cubs fans and gold nugget fans too who love rooting for the underdog, less mainstream teams/ brands so they hate on nike, yankees or whatever it is. thats kinda how i see it anyways.
@GERBOY90
12 жыл бұрын
But nike is a bussiness if the money isnt there then ofcourse there gonna split the only reason a skateboard company can do that is because skateboarding is all they do while nike have a milion ways of making money but if there back and putting good skatewear and they got a great team and putting out great footage then people should get behind them.

i don't know why everybody hates on the habitat video... i mean stefans part and daryls part let me down because i know they can do so much better but everyone elses part was fuckin amazing. ps. i was trying to learn alley oop bs / fs 180 5050s... hardest trick ever! i can usually get a sketchy one fs but bs im not even close! :O

The reason why everybody hates is because nike is building the dream team just like DC and because it's a company bathing in money, not caring about skating, just about the money in skating rignt now and it is making smaller brands run out of buissness. Look what happned to Adio and éS.

4:42 ... Those stairs are fucking huge. And the bank is steep as hell. I never even thought of anyone ever trying that. You wouldn't know how crazy that was unless you've been to the banks. I suggest everyone goes just to realize how amazing that was, even if they're closed down
@waxplayer1323

They also provide excellent exposure to those team members by producing fantastic and captivating cinematic pieces. Nike's got their shit down but people are too narrow-minded to see anything outside of their underexposed and poorly funded skate brands.
