1. *Prepare the Potatoes:* Peel and thinly slice the potatoes. Rinse them in cold water to remove excess starch and pat them dry with a paper towel.
2. *Slice the Onion:* Thinly slice the onion and set it aside.
3. *Heat the Pan:* In a large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of butter or oil over medium-high heat.
4. *Cook the Potatoes:* Add the sliced potatoes to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, flipping occasionally, until the potatoes start to turn golden brown.
5. *Add the Onions:* Add the sliced onions to the skillet and mix them with the potatoes. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until both the potatoes and onions are golden brown and crispy, about 10-15 minutes.
