PIROSHKI. TRADITIONAL RUSSIAN RECIPE.
I come from Russia
I have been living in Greece for 20 years. I learned this recipe from my mother
and I am sharing it with you today.
So... as difficult as the recipe seems, it is that easy to make!
It takes a little extra effort but the taste of the final product will reward you.
For the dough:
250ml warm water from the potatoes
2 tsp sugar
1 full tsp salt
1 packet of yeast (8gr)
2 tbsp olive oil
500gr flour
I used 375gr
It all depends on the flour, sometimes it takes 375gr and other times 400gr,
this amount was used for both the dough and the flouring of the surface.
For the filling:
500gr potatoes
1 large onion
salt, black pepper to your liking
100gr butter
For the garlic sauce:
5 tbsp yogurt
1-2 cloves garlic
2-3 sprigs of dill
salt
