You inspire me Adam, to not only do better for my son who has Aspergers but in the understanding you bring to the culture of ASD is wonderful and positive and makes a real difference.

Omg amazing. I work with adults with severe autism who can be very aggressive but each one has there own qualities n abilities. Each deserve the best quality of life. They too are human beings.

The problem with education is that it is geared towards a certain type of person - when you grow up you have to enter this job or this job or this job. Take the word dis-ability the whole word doesn't apply to everyone but ability does and that is what schools should teach. Most of what is taught in school is not needed when you finish, so why can't a system be created that results are based not just on being able to prove that you can read and retain irrelevant information (although not all) I always feel that drama should be a subject that should be integrated into the school curriculum from the age of five in this country. You will learn confidence to stand up in front of others and if you don't feel comfortable in your own skin you can do so from the character you create in the story, drama might not appeal to everyone but you can gain so much confidence from it. It will teach you about the world and people around you. It will give a solid foundation to learn to walk on your own two feet and to express thoughts, opinions and ideas. It will teach people how to think for themselves. It is about expression and creating and learning to integrate into society because you can get overwhelmed by the pace of life around you - Do away with homework for kids up to eight and encourage them to have hobbies and to play after school. Interact and Integrate is key! Nobody should be left out.
