Thanks for raising awareness on autism as someone who was diagnosed in early childhood and suffers sensory overload and has enhanced senses is why I find ASMR videos so tingly and a lot of people on the spectrum even more than most neuro typical people do. Your making a difference to people's lives through your videos Prim which is a very rewarding thing to do keep up the great work 😊

As an autist myself, I'm glad to see more and more awareness of autism out there. Back even in 2010, when I found out I had autism, practically nobody knew what it was. Half the time, they'd think I said "artistic" rather than "autistic" (which is why, for the record, I prefer saying "I have autism" rather than "I am autistic" because it avoids the word being misheard at all).

As a person with Autism, I am born high functioning in my spectrum and have a perspective of things I see not everyone sees the way I do, and I'm grateful to give me a great gift of creativity with artwork and film-making, Not everyone think I don't look autistic on the outside though it kinda felt like disheartened and disrespectful when they say that, I can get picky for what I eat or hear loud noises which is part of the Autism spectrum, but it's a big part of my life for what or who I am! Happy Autism Awareness or Acceptance Month dear Prim! Lots of Love!!! 💖💝💘🥰

Prim I think the word you were searching for was "validation." You were needing to have someone validate these things about yourself that are not so unique, but unique to you! I think it's also an interesting (and relatable) standpoint hearing from someone questioning these things when they have had siblings with struggles growing up. You either end up comparing yourself to them and invalidating yourself, or (in my case) having no time or support to explore your own feelings until adulthood where you're left confused as to whether you're neurodivergent or just kinda damaged from your upbringing and stunted emotional development. I don't know if you can relate or if I'm just projecting, but it sounds like we have a lot of the same symptoms. And when you grow up around siblings or peers that fit certain criteria with more certainty and clarity than you, then it can be really hard not to invalidate your own feelings. You go Prim. Us ND suspecting girls have got it!

If your brothers have both been diagnosed, and you've been told you fit the criteria, then it's pretty nailed on that you're on the spectrum yourself :) The chances of a 2nd sibling having autism after 1 has already been diagnosed, is increased, mainly due to it being down to genetics (as has recently been discovered). My younger sister (2yrs younger than me) was told she fit the criteria a few years ago, and was referred for an assessment/diagnosis. After she told me, I started researching, and yep, I'm on the spectrum as well, with both Autism and Inattentive ADHD. I'm on the waiting list for an official diagnosis myself now for over 2yrs, as the waiting list is up to 4yrs long in the UK on the NHS sadly. My sister and I are both in our late 40's, so going this length of time with both of us being undiagnosed just shows how much progress has been made over the past 40yrs with early diagnoses, and recognition of the effects and behaviours prevalent in both males and females on the spectrum!

I've been diagnosed with ASD for as long as I can remember. We can easily get tongue tied. During my toast at my older brother's wedding, I said something that didn't come out right. Everyone knew what I meant, because they've all known me for over a decade. I'm a big advocate for neurodivergent individuals, whether it's ASD or down syndrome or cerebral palsy. People with mental "disabilities" are genuinely the nicest people you will ever meet. We don't see the point in being mean. We can be incredibly smart, we just don't process information at the same rate or in the same way as most people. Thank you for sharing. We are all here to help. Edit. For the most part, you can't tell if someone is autistic based on appearances. Downs syndrome on the other hand, is easier to spot. My best friend has downs syndrome, and he is the strongest guy I know.

My 6 year old son was diagnosed with autism a couple of years ago. Watching my son grow I have noticed that I had a lot of similiarities in my own behavior and learning at his age. Still have a lot of odd personality quirks I can’t explain even to myself also quite clear masking in day to day life. So I sometimes wonder if I am too on the spectrum. Have never been tested. Having watched your videos, also those with your fun and kind brothers, and now knowing that you Prim are possibly on the spectrum too, I’ve had this sigh of relief that maybe everything in the end will be alright for my own son as well and he can manage to ”take on” the world by his own accord.

Also, the symptoms you’ve had since you were younger can be associated with other sensory disorders and anxiety. These comments are not to discredit if you do or don’t have ASD, just something to consider. There’s not enough research on women on the spectrum for diagnoses to occur much when a girl is higher on the spectrum.

Asperger's was previously distinguished from Autism Spectrum Disorder based on patients not experiencing language and cognitive delay. Unfortunately, it was made known the person for whom Asperger's Syndrome was named was a horrible person. He was a Nazi. Dr. Hans Asperger was a pediatrician who worked in Nazi Vienna in the 1940s. Asperger was credited with identifying and defining autism, but he was also responsible for sending (possibly hundreds) of children to their deaths. It's so horrible. :*(

You could have some disability like ocd or adhd but if it’s in your family genes you could possibly past it onto your kids because it goes to next generation sometimes. I have highly functional austism and many other forms of disability and people look and treat me differently but I am more or less normal like everyone else. I have gifts of seeing into the supernatural world too where I feel things that are not there and no it’s not that schizophrenia because I been tested lol. I wouldn’t be upset that people told you were not autism. I would be okay with it and learn to help your bothers more with it. Don’t feel like it doesn’t make you not special because you don’t have it because to me everyone is special in their own way through the eyes of Jesus Christ.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say that you don't have autism, just a deep respect and love for your siblings to the point of mirroring their traits. It's also okay to be quirky and stick out from normal people too, doesn't mean anything is wrong with you. There's just no reason why you should trick yourself into having some disorder just to justify your weird behavior, like some kind of Munchausen syndrome by proxy effect, still a great video though.

Samsies. 🩵 minus the mirroring. Been stimming (subtle) and overwhelmed (immensely) by society since I can remember. I can't work in high traffic jobs (lights, sounds, germs, too much material items around, the energy, people looking at me while I work = a big no thanks) . So, like the library or self employment is best for me and even that can be too much at times. Cats = peace for me. Or any animal that is calm and usually soft. I am 41 yrs old. I know I'm on the spectrum. I just haven't approached a therapist about it. I was always diagnosed with things like ADD/ADHD/BPD/OCD/PMDD (the big one for me) and a misdiagnosis of bipolar disorder. We're all just trying to live in this world; finding our own peace and love.. together. Being supportive, compassionate and empathetic is essential, imo. 💚 Just be yourself 😌
