It’s so funny how different we are from everybody else but so similar as neurodivergent people, I also struggle with chronic back pain since last year and I’m just realizing that it’s related to this and not because I have bad posture or because I was overweigh, I’m more active now and I still have back pain😭I have to stretch like, so many times in one day or its really unbearable especially when I’m going through burnout( which I thought was depression) I’m so shocked I wanna cry because I don’t feel alone anymore for once in my life😭

This definitely hit home for me as I've always struggled with identifying my emotions in the moment as an autistic black women. Journaling has helped me tremendously with it. Thank you for such an insightful video message.

Sometimes I’m outside smoking and I’ll think about how I’m hot but it’ll take a whileeeeee for me to take off a layer or make an action about it. Idk why. Partly because my cozy clothes are my comfort clothes and that doesn’t go well with warm weather😂😂😂😂

Maybe i have found the "source" of alexithymia. Autism can be described as disorder of brain prediction. Worse or no prediction makes it difficult to integrate sensory input (including interoception) into cohesive whole. That makes learning concepts of emotions harder(like what feeling inside means what emotion). When you add autistic people can have problem filtering and getting used to sensory inputs ,, and unpredictable inputs can cause anxiety it can as a result make impossible to make a pair of emotion + word for it. And without words for emotions you have alexithymia...I hope i described my thought understandably To the slower processing of emotions point: Without knowing emotions and gut feeling/intuition you have to rely on logic only. So you have 50% of "recognizing power" and therefore it can take much longer to recognize your emotions about something happened to you
