I've tried several times to get information about 303 fabric guard, but never get a response back. Have u ever tried it? Im interested in it for interiors, not convertibles

Darren, they changed the formula on scotch guard and many other protectants around 2019. It’s now just a water proof but doesn’t shield against absorption of oily spills from food etc or dirt. No longer a protectant. What would you recommend now that you have tested or anecdotal evidence of being good?

Great stuff Darren, have not used a frabric guard in a long time and today my customer requested it. Going out to get some now. New 16 Pathfinder with tan fabric and my main concern was that he wanted just the seat areas only and not the backrest. I then wondered if I was going to see any difference once it dried between seat and backrest? I wanted to make this simple/fast/efficient and if all goes right I will offer/upsell this with other customers. I searched youtube for fabric guard and you came up with both Scotchguard and Stoner. Have watched many of your videos and am always impressed with your knowledge and procedures in Professional Detailing. Mahalo my friend, keep up the good work/videos Dave 808Details Hawaii.

I know I’m a bit late to the video here, but isn’t leather porous? Since it’s skin and you can literally see the pores in the material.

Hey Darren does this product help, in any way, to make cleaning/vacuuming pet hair easier? I was considering spraying down my trunk in my jeep GC so when I transport my dogs afterwards it would help in preventing the pet hair to get embedded in the fibers. I use a washable liner regardless but stray hair still makes its way in the carpet fibers. THANKS!

Great stuff as always Darren! I am a big fan of the upsell too and do it for customers with leather seats and even did one Harley today. I use 'Leather Love' for conditioning and 'Leather Guard' for protection both by Australian company Bowden's Own. Great products for coated leather!

Hi, I enjoy your videos... certainly a big help. I have recently worked on my first Aston Martin. When they first brought me the car, they told me the detailers were using a pressure washer to clean the wheels and brakes, the breaks would squeak shortly after. I used a degreaser I have been using for years and diluted it down drastically. Hand washed, soft brush for the caliper, gently rinsed with no pressure. Used the leaf blower then hand-detailed, drove the car gently worked the brakes dry and no squeak. Now, they are squeaking again! Darren you are my only hope! Would you have any suggestion, other than never use any detergent on the brakes? Soon I will have paint issues on the caliper, as you obviously know. In short, I want to help prevent the owners having to take the car to the dealer for the anti-squeak application. Thanks for reading.

+James Horvath My simple answer is that brakes consist of numerous moving parts, and often a little squeak is part of the equation regardless of what you do or the brakes themselves.

+Auto Fetish Detail Thanks Darren, too right. From what I have found out recently, is that the breaks on this model are Carbon Composite Disks, and because they are used on track cars they develop a glaze of sorts on the disk from normal city use. So, hard breaking from time to time helps to heat the disks and minimize break squeal. Thanks again for reading.

Mustard is an overlooked stain, one of the worst. I use to do carpet and upholstery cleaning, BTW I use to buy Scotchguard concentrate by the gallon from Jon-don for under $50. It went a long way when doing house and business carpets and upholstery. Just my 2 cents to save a buck, u can probably get it other places for around the same price.
