I am an engineering design student. This gave me a prediploma in mechanical engineering and the rest of the studies is design. I think the main difference is the kind of products you design. Our big advantage is, that, other than industrial designers, we can be put to work on very technical products (packaging machines, chainsaws, forklifts...). -> But the metods are all the same.

Hey great job! I had one question though: I recently got sketchbook pro and I find it somewhat difficult to sketch precisely using my mouse... I see how nice and smooth you draw your lines in the original sketch, I'm wondering is there any hardware you use to draw more efficiently? Or are you using a normal computer mouse

+Inês Rodrigues most people i know uses Wacom tablet , here is their product website :www.wacom.com/en-us i use wacom bamboo tablet,because is cheaper and it works very well, but l heard that wacom intuos is much better than bamboo, but is more expensive. so yah wacom sells good tablets.

is this software easier than Photoshop when it comes to sketching and rendering?
@sketchadaydotcom

There are some differences like in sketchbook pro you can snap to a guide or templates r sketching nice ellipses. Also in sketchbook pro, the brush engine for sketching is better. My preference however is photoshop for rendering sketches.

So, you're industrial designer. Are you a freelancer? I'm thinking about taking industrial design engineering degree in uni (it combines industrial design and engineering)? would it be different from what you're doing? Could you pm me with some tips?

Free ones are generally bad. I would shell out and spend $30ish on Fraps, which is by far the best. Bandicam has a 30 seconds record and has decent quality for free though. However hypercam is free but the quality is low. Price = Quality for screen recorders!

I see you switching from the canvas to the menues all the time, unlike in Photoshop, where one can work without ever touching the menues once. Arent the missing shortcuts a mayor downside of Sketchbook? It always kept me away from it.

If you really want to be a true product designer, i would advise you to take the industrial design and engineering combined degree. When you design a product, it has to work and look good. For it to work well, you have to learn the physics that is applied on your products.
