I'm starting to stretch my fasting muscles now I'm up to 40 hours from 5 meals a day to 16/8, to 18/6, to OMAD, to 36 hours. I'm feeling better afterwards each longer length. To be honest, it's difficult, but afterwards I feel great

Heya I'm thinking of moving onto a 48hr fast from omad. Just want to know how did you do the switch? Did you eat more before the fast or did you just go into it loaded with your normal calorie intake? Thanks!

@@saiken811 Not the original commenter, but I went from OMAD right into a 72 hour, no loading up, just my regular 1 plate. Ghrelin wave hit me that next "meal time", and then again the next morning. After that I wasn't hungry. The hard part is always the first 2 days for me. Since I know that, I am less inclined to do 48 hour fasts, because it always seems like starting all over again for me. I prefer the longer fasts, separated by OMADs With the holidays, and longer drinking times, It's gonna me rough getting back into the OMADs, But I will!

I have to ask ... why don’t you lovelies just put the links in the bio!? I NEVER want to bother you, so I NEVER EVER ask for the guides or links but I’ve been watching and doing for years! Surely making these accessible will up the numbers of people accessing them! It almost makes you guys look like you’re not being transparent and like there’s something you want from people, more than just this altruistic need to HELP. I’ve been holding that in for years... still love you infinitely.

Subscribed. Quite possibly the most thorough and clear video on this subject out there. Also brief and easy to understand. A real motivator. Covers topics not found in other videos, like menopause, testosterone and brain neurons. I am 56 and this is the first time in my life I have tried fasting. I am 24 hours in and my mood is much improved, and I can feel my skin and body tightening up. I regularly eat the mediterranean diet of beans, grains, vegs, fruit, and some meat. Lots of eggs. I posses the golden triangle of broad shoulders and thin waist. But at my age, I noticed lots of stomach skin starting to sag and looking weird. Now with fasting, my body already looks 10 years younger.

Sooooo.... Here's a thing to consider. I'm no doc but something dawned on me today: dietary fat during a fast shouldn't stop autophagy. If fat stopped autophagy then it wouldn't happen in our body until we ran out of fat on our body. So my theory is that fat during your fast shouldn't have any effect on the autophagy. What are your thoughts

Just noticed this two-year-old video in my feed, so I’m late to the party but SO grateful to have seen it, as it succinctly answers questions about the benefits of longer fasting. Probably need to watch this every hour after my normal 20-hour IF for motivation. Many of us watching this sincerely want to tap into the healing phases of extended autophagy, and know from fasting experience that it’s not really a physical hunger causing us to fail, but rather all the mental cues to break our fasts before we’d planned. I call it fighting with my inner two-year old - there are no hunger pangs, actually don’t need to eat, but that stubborn child inside starts saying, “ No!! You’re not the boss of me!” “I want blueberries now!” “Ooh, those tri-colored peppers in the fridge aren’t going to last forever-I should make a salad!” “Oh, I’ll just have a few macadamia nuts to keep me from eating.” And the twenty other ridiculous things that pop into the head around (insert your own problematic hour here) 😹 The truth is, even after giving up all the harmful and “bad” foods, limiting carbs, eating is an immensely pleasurable activity, and there are really tough programmed habits - whether it’s the dinner hour, breakfast, or other triggers that we allow to sabotage our best longer-fast intentions, that many of us are constantly trying to overcome. I read in the comments that many have been on the journey for enough time to be fine-tuning their autophagy, and some are like me, just relative newbies attempting longer fasts. Having a fasting partner or fasting support group probably helps people to combat these trigger times. Is that what the “reset” was? Anyway, Mindy, really appreciate your mission to get us off the sick train and into a healthy eating/fasting lifestyle. 🥰🥗🐓🥚🙅♀️🍋🥑🫐🥦🌈❤️🚶♀️🙅♀️We’re listening! ☘️🏊🏼♀️🏕️

What happens way beyond 72 hours of fasting? If someone does say a 2 week water fast or say a 40 day water fast (as done at the True North Center) will they spend the rest of their fasting time beyond the 72 hours without autophagy or healing (or rather beyond the gradual diminishing period after it peaks at 72 hours)? Are such long term fasting efforts a waste of time because of the limited window of autophagy from the onset of the fast? And why would autophagy only last for this long and no further into a long term fast?
