Over the garden wall is the best thing ever created. It is so well done. It's created by the animators of adventure time. They needed to make adventure time quickly because it's a weekly show. Hence it is dirty and rushed. Over the garden wall is made with such care and precision. It's like the project the animators dreamed of doing on a big budget with time to create. The attention to detail is incredible. You can really see that love and passion went into this project.

I've been meaning to check out "Over the Garden Wall" so thank you for reminding me. My fall recommendation is my favourite microbudget post-apocalyptic dutch (but in english) action horror "Molly" (so much competition for that one). Lots of fall colours, dead leaves, rage zombies and a girl with unreliable psychic powers clumsily attempting to kill equally clumsy opponents. It has this weirdly beautiful look that nostalgically reminds me of an old TV I got as a kid that had busted brightness and contrast controls. Also I love english as a second language films.

Just got back from 3 days in the woods and the first thing I see is your reccomendations for fall films. These are all good picks and the richness of the colour is always good to see if it is done right. As a classic horror fan I find the trick is to find films with that feel that are in B&W. My pick would be the opening scene from "Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman". A cold and wind swept graveyard with leaves blowing through and two slightly bundled grave robbers about to meet their doom during a harvest moon. Great stuff. Time for coffee.

Great list as always ! I love Madman - and I believe there's actually a quick throwaway line near the beginning (still around the campfire) about it being the week before Thanksgiving, which I appreciate for explaining the obvious fall setting, but also just makes the context of this east coast November camp, with a notably small and diversely-aged group of campers, all the more puzzling.

You beat me to some of the ones I wanted to mention. One other one I often think about for the fall is Far From Heaven (2002) - actually on your last fall video I already mentioned this. It's a great homage to All That Heaven Allows (I was glad to see that one mentioned last time). And now that I think about it - Riding the Bullet is also another. A cornball personal favorite for the fall season.

Something Wicked This Way Comes has so much in common with Needful Things. I read the book Needful Things. It was amazing. But when I heard you say the Autumn People prey on the regrets and things of people from the town, it definitely reminded me of Mr. Gaunt and his intentions.

It's been a bit since I've watched Madman but it's actually takes place in November. After the old man tells the campfire story in the beginning he tells everyone to enjoy their Thanksgiving break. And Indian Summer isn't just another way to say fall, Indian Summer is when it's fall but gets a heat wave as if its summer weather again

Something Wicked is AMAZING❤ I recently saw it a few months ago and it's honestly a super ideal fall film.. the visuals, the storyline, are excellent, I dunno why Disney is SO afraid of acknowledging this film... Also Johnathan Price as Mr. Dark sole the movie for me, he's so handsome and yet ran chills through my spine! He's such a underrated villain

Ordinary People has a very fall vibe with the story eventually ending around New Year. It's an excellent, but deep movie on its own, but that is the first film that always pops into my head when I think of fall themes films...And then maybe the Paper Chase, although it begins in the fall of an L1's first year at Harvard and ends in the spring, it feels like a big part of it takes place in the fall leading up to the holidays.

Three movies jumped out to me as quintessential Fall movies. One you had Hoosiers but Dead Poets Society and Urban Legend also came to my mind as well.

I'm putting all of these in my library queue as I watch this video! I love that you can find pretty much any movie thru your local library intra system which allows you to borrow from literally hundreds ( maybe thousands) of libraries' collections.
