@@SeamsLikeAGoodIdea Thank you so much! ❤️ I love my bunad (national dress) very much. It is the most precious piece of clothing I own, because my mum made it, but also because it connects me to my family history every time I wear it. Have a lovely weekend, too.

The great thing with plans is that they aren’t set in stone. Sooo… If the odd Nest sweatshirt suddenly turns up in your makes…embrace it! I had a look at the the Hathor and am really taken with it. Th silversaga aesthetic is really gorgeous. I’m heading into spring/summer here in Australia, so I may find myself checking these patterns out. I do want to make my self a tea dress and shirt dress (patterns TBC!) Also need to get over my fear and make a pair of trousers. I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew 🤔😱. Love plans videos and really enjoyed yours. See you next vlog :)

@@JulieH1958 oh, I totally agree, Julie. I think of my plans as a guiding star more than anything else. I have never made a tea dress, but I like the look of that Sew house 7 one. Let me know how you get on. :)

Lovely plans. Have made several Hathor vests, its a great pattern. Looking forward to Autumn sewing. I want to make some new dungarees, a few shirts, and a knit blazer. May also make another absolu jacket, west it like a cardigan, adore that pattern, have made several but would like one in every colour!

I’m looking forward to all the jeans reveals, especially yours and Rachael’s. I purchased the Butano pattern during its release also, but haven’t made it up yet. I don’t enjoy putting PDFs together anymore so I need to send it off to be printed. I have some lovely eyelet that I want to use for that make. Enjoyed your vlog today! 😘

@@lynnshepard7485 I know. I don’t like sticking all those A4 pages together either. I used to have my own A0 printer, so I got a bit lazy.. A Butano shirt in eyelet fabric sounds lovely! I hadn’t thought of that, but I might copy you.. hihi

Hi there :) Karen Marie, love the look of these plans! If you aren’t comfortable with the word national costume, maybe you can go for norwegian traditional dress? I haven’t really made plans yet but you have inspired me to get on and make some! Xx
@madebykarenmarie

@@shambolicsewist3836 That is a good alternative term! I know that the dictionary term is national costume, but I have never been comfortable with it. It sounds like something one would wear for a laugh at Halloween in stead of the most precious piece of clothing I own. But I like the sound of traditional dress. Thanks! ❤️

@madebykarenmarie I was drawn to the remakes I'm hoping to make a complete 40s and 50s style wardrobe eventually. While I know the actual vintage patterns are better I have no way to get.them so I will happily use the tools I do have available bloom.where your planted and all.

Great plans! What nationality is your costume? Just curious. I’m planning on making some cardigans and skirts for fall. Not sure which patterns yet. We are still in summer here in fact some of our hottest muggy weather for next weeks. Tomorrow is forecasted to be above 100 f. I do need a new pair of jeans this fall.

@@amierikke6225 Hi Amie! I have a Norwegian national costume (bunad). My particular one is from Gudbrandsdalen, a long valley in the East of Norway. It is where some of my family is from. Wow! 100 F is way too hot. It never gets that hot where I live :)

@@madebykarenmarie thank you! My husband is of Norwegian descent, and his family makes lefse every Christmas. I’m a mix of Swedish, danish and German. I grew up eating ablesivers and I have my mom’s cast iron ablesciver pan. We are in the middle of the US, Nebraska, and our farmer’s crops in the fields are maturing. They say this makes it more humid right now, all those corn plants “breathing “ and somehow increasing our humidity. The hot temps are just our norm at end of summer. I can’t even think of fall yet, but I have much I want to sew this year! I’ve never made myself jeans and those are on my list. Take care!
