I live in Massachusetts. And recently purchased the home to find out that there's ice damming so I purchased this avalanche snow removal and it is an outstanding tool.

I just bought one of these yesterday and I'm amazed at how quick and easy it was to clear the snow off my roof. Such a genius product.

Very very cool, no pun intended. My guess is that it will work very will on fresh snow, as shown. So it might be best to use often and not let ice layers build up. I'll have to get one. Cheers.

Remove the plastic and replace with aluminum, he was fighting the flex, of the plastic. Also, it would be best to show it on something greater than 4-5 inch snow accumulations. (i.e. when snow drifts, or builds in a roof valley.) Looks interesting, but would take more convincing.

The avalanche is junk compared to the roof razor.

I don't live in snow land but find it fascinating. I feel like I would have a wheelbarrow underneath to catch the snow as it slides off, to save me from shovelling the drive all over again. Would that work?

in canada snow weight in tons so you better use a scrapper and take human bite size of it ...( 2 feet of snow on a 50 ft roof make 100 feet of snow )

It is a shame the fork is so high. It does not need to be above the snow, and that height makes the handle more wobbly than needed. If the fork were only an inch or two above the roof, it could take another segment without wobbling uncontrollably. Maybe the end six inches could be cut off each tine.

I really don’t like the fact you’re pushing up against the roof shingles. Catch one shingle corner going up and off comes the shingle. Just use a regular rood take and don’t clear down to the shingle. Leave an inch or so of snow.

Hi! the avalanche roof rake does have small wheels that ride on the shingles so they will not catch or damage the roof while removing snow.

I bought extentions with my Avalanche rake just for this reason, but have not had any really heavy snowing sins then. Just 8 years ago....
