Aventon Adventure arrived with a battery that won't turn on after charging according to their instructions. I was pretty careful about following their instructions, including charging the battery. However, the battery simply won't turn on. Initially, support's response was a bit slow but once they had enough pix and videos to verify the problem, they promply sent me a new replacement battery. Fantastic feature/performance-cost ratio - I couldn't be happier with it.

Thanks for the review Jimmy and Andrew! Andrew rocking the Niners shirt...GO NINERS! I like e-bikes and owned one many years ago when it was more a DIY thing. I just don't have the garage space any longer to keep these heavy bicycles stored properly. I can store several EUCs and a folded scooter in the same space a bike would take. I also hated dealing with the expensive and heavy duty car rack you will need to haul around most decent e-bikes. I strongly prefer EUCs and scooters for the portable portion of the PEV world. You also can bring EUCs and scooters into many stores and restaurants these days so you don't need to keep things locked outside. I never leave anything locked outside these days.
@Andrew-vt4jt

I've always enjoyed your comments. Now that I know you're a Niners fan, I love your comments! All very great points. I love Ebikes but EUCs are definitely the superior mode of transportation for PEVs. There's nothing like the compact design, portability, and power delivery. One thing Ebikes have over EUCs is I don't feel like I need to wear elbow or knee guards on most rides.

Thanks for sharing :) I know there have been a lot of negative comments on ebike reviews of late across different channels relating to the gear train (1x5, 1x7 etc) not being sufficient for manual pedalling and problematic for the assist with having to turn too fast to keep up with the motor. I'm thinking I may pull the trigger in an Aventon. I'm a heavier rider (300 lbs) and I was glad to see that it can carry up to 400 lbs. That's perfect for me. I like that it has a powerful motor because I really enjoy the thrill of speed. I wish Aventon had more of the step over bikes in large in stock right now as the camo green and black are out of stock at the moment. I might go for one in SoCal Sand because I'm originally from California and it reminds me a lot of where I came from. It also looks like the same color that the military uses in their desert camo colors. Browsing more in the website, I discovered the step thru version in Electric Red and that's a pretty sharp color. Either way, I think an Aventon just may be the electric bike I'm looking for as I'm hoping to get back in shape after 7 years of not riding my old Cannondale F7 mountain bike.
