Hi Mike, awesome bike review! You covered a lot of vital information without the fluff. I purchased mines earlier this month and still like learning from the pros. Initially, I liked the ease of the cadence system but when I found my Level 2 bike in pink at a discount, brand new, I had to jump on it! I soon learned that the torque is standard and better helps us recovering couch potatoes.😊 -Thanks again!

Hi Mike. Great review. I just bought this bike yesterday. My first ebike. I test rode a few first. The torque sensor makes all the difference. Feels like a bike (not a motorcycle with pedals) that I can ride fast and far without killing myself and being drenched in sweat. I can cruise easily at 20 mph in PAS 1 and 7th gear. If I want to pedal harder and go to 8th gear, I can get 25 mph, still in PAS 1. If I need to go faster than that, I'll take the motorcycle. :)

Hi Brian I'm curious if you bought yours from a dealer or online ? I see there is sometimes issues with ordering online and hard to get resolved with customer service. Do you recommend buying from a local dealer if possible?

@@gmc8810 Hi. I bought it from a local ebike dealer. It was the same price as online, but I would've paid more. There is value in being able to test ride the bikes, talk with a knowledgeable staff, and take the bike home with you. Btw, I can get 32.1 mph on level 5 assist in top gear. It's work, but not nearly as much as riding my fat bike on trails. I'm not out of breath or sweaty, but still get a nice workout. Which is the whole point of an ebike to me.

Good review Mike. I have a Level 1.0 and really enjoy it. The integrated lights on the 2.0 are a nice upgrade as is the color display with USB port. The 2.0 is listed at 53 lbs, but my guess that’s without the 9 lb battery installed. My 1.0 is listed at 62 lbs with battery. Since I don’t store my bike with the battery installed there really is no difference. So, for what it’s worth, my comment is really just about truth in advertising.
@mikerochester

Thanks for the comments Steve. I agree the colored display and integrated lights are definitely a nice upgrade. But I think the biggest difference is the torque sensor. So the pedaling involvement is a little bit different but a completely eliminates any jerkiness or hesitation with the motor.

Mike, I bought my 1st ebike around the 4th of July of this year. I absolutely love it. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and have it sit in the garage, so I only bought a 250 watt motor. I now know I want a better e-bike. I'm on the shorter side (5'4") so, moving forward, a step through model is a must. My current e-bike is not a step through and it measures 31 " at the seat level. What does this bike measure at? The specs say 810 mm which is almost 32 inches. I was just wondering if that was accurate? I really love everything about this bike but I also want to be able to carry passengers (grandkids) on it. Ride1up has a Cafe Cruiser with a passenger kit. Radpower has a power wagon. I wish more e-bike Companies had more passenger e-bike options. I do enjoy riding for exercise, but I also want to spend time with the grandkids. Any suggestions? The Magicycle Ocelot Pro also tweaks my interest, except for the no passenger options. Any suggestions?
@mikerochester
Жыл бұрын
I'll take a look at some of those e-bikes but my first impression would be these bikes are very heavy to hold up and with someone on the back could be kind of dangerous I would do a tow behind unless it was a lower to the ground bike that was built with passengers in mind. But no doubt about it I a step through.

Thanks, Mike. Excellent review with lots of insights about ebikes in general and this popular model in particular. I'm ready to pull the trigger on this model but I had not seen any discussion of the PAS 0 performance of this model, which you provided. If you are out of battery and have to haul to home in real bike mode, what does it feel like? First review where I got that.

Thanks you, I would always recommend turning back before 50%. Obviously take other things into account like is the way home downhill or uphill. But if you did run out of battery you'd probably just walk the bike uphills ride downhills and on flat ground I really don't think it would be that bad unless it was all up hill. If you do choose to buy and use my friends code you'll get 5% off if that deal is still active and I get a little store credit.
