Short, but those greens will make you work! Def worth a play, esp if u can find a deal on tee times

Your swing is really good. Your putting should be more focused on lags with misses on the high side. Reading greens is not easy to master but even more difficult on mountain courses as the grain pushes hard toward slopes, seeking moisture. All North Carolina courses are devilish to putt. It’s nothing like flat land course greens.

This course in particular is only tricky because of the undulation on the greens. Everything else about it is really straightforward IMO, but I've never putt well here in my mind lol

Great vlog as usual. Personally I prefer the 18 hole format over the two 9 hole vlogs.

Yeah I've had a couple of convos with some trusted friends that do YT and I think the new format I'm going for will push these course vlogs into 1 full 18 hole video compared to 2 parts. The editing will get quicker as well from here out so it won't feel that long (thats the hope)

Alan great stuff per usual-- I'm a 12.5 handicap and you might consider this YT tip that helped me shoot a 40 for nine holes the other day. IMO your left shoulder stays high on your miss hits , try swinging a little shallower for the first foot or two on the backswing and it will promote a lower left shoulder and a more consistent swing path on the downswing
@PerfectlyAverageGolf
Жыл бұрын
I am DEFINITELY going to keep my eye on this when I'm editing, I'm usually so focused on the right shoulder that I never even look at the left one. Cheers
@jimmyhi1730
Жыл бұрын
According to this tip when the left shoulder is too high the shoulders flatten out causing the right shoulder ion the downswing to move out, instead of in down and in-- resulting in heel-ish hits

@@PerfectlyAverageGolf One correction and word of caution, I too focus on my right shoulder because it helps delivers the blow = don't obsess on the left shoulder, it will screw up your timing -- just know that a shallower backswing automatically lowers the left and stay with your swing thought

I like the full 18. Good stuff yet again man. Your ability to recover after blow up holes is impressive. Sometimes I find myself a little too mad at myself. Keep it up

Cheers my man yeah we are going to be pushing these course vlogs to more of the 18 hole style from here out (edits are getting quicker too). That was my BIGGEST issue when I first started playing; I've been treating my mentality of you get as many bad shots as your HCP # before you can get mad. Would be surprised how much it's helped!

You know how you've made it big? When you have two schmucks who've played golf longer than you've been alive watching your video on a smart tv at the Fort Lauderdale Marriot the night before our trip to Turks to try to get a feel for the course. When you going back?

Okay I have a pet peeve that I've noticed in some of your videos. To be fair, you don't do it as much now since you've gotten better. If you it in the shit and lose your ball (non hazard), it's reload time. Not drop ball where you think it went in time. You can do that but it's two strokes. Stroke and distance baby. The next logical step for you is to play in an individual tourney. You won't be dropping in a tourney. I play 25 tourneys a year. If I could just hammer driver every hole not giving a damn where it goes or I could just drop the ball somewhere near the green I'd be a plus 3 instead of a 1. Different type of pressure. Again, it's just a pet peeve. Enjoy the vids.

You know I KNEW someone was going to say something this video because as I was editing it I heard myself say "that's out of play" or talked "out of play" when there were red stakes/spray paint lines and I'd had lost it in there. There's not a ton of OB on this course except for 5 down the road next to the neighborhood, and 6 back up along that cart path for the short Par 4. But yeah often previously if I hadn't played a course before I'd default to hitting a provisional and then see if it were OB or hazard and I'd just cut the provisional shot out if I drove up and saw red stakes. Other times I've just been mistaken and thought it was hazard when there's actually OB. Also FWIW there have been regular times i'll be playing with a group of 4 and we'll all just agree to play OB as lateral hazard to keep pace up since the camera is an EASY target for complaints even if I'm personally not playing slow/poorly.
@poohlover3996

@@PerfectlyAverageGolf That's fair. I can see how some people would get annoyed with a vlogger. Personally as long as group is keeping up who really gives a crap. Still, reload it. Hitting 3 from the tee, Allan from Perfectly Average lol. Keep em coming.
@PerfectlyAverageGolf

Absolutely my man, like I said I typically will throw a provisional out on courses I'm unfamiliar with and am unsure if it's OB or Hazard and then just nix the edit if I find it or it ends up being Hazard. After the club pro and our other random thought they saw both down I thought I'd be good. You'll be happy to know as I'm editing the next video rn and I had 1 shot that I thought was in but couldn't find it so I took a drop and played it as 4 since I didn't hit a provisional for it

Good couple rounds in a row there dude. What a beast of a course at only 6k yds tho. That’s how I felt playing Champion in Columbus that only plays 5.8k from tips. That’s a course I’m gonna get my redemption on next season for sure tho.

It's a short yet tricky one with how the elevation and slopes play around the fairways and greens. The greens were also pretty tough that day for all of us, even the club pro (he still shot 72 though lol)

@@PerfectlyAverageGolf those greens seemed similar to the Broadmoor ones too. Just seemed like the ball stuck on both.
