I think they are are great. My daughter let me listen to her cd. She heard them on a local college station. If you look around you can find them on the radio. Just don't listen to the crap stations! We have to find stations that play what we want. They are popular in this area, thank goodness. Thank you so much for posting. Great clarity and sound.

2008?! Wow! I discovered you on KZitem about 5 years ago. I wish I had followed from the beginning. Truly, one of favorite bands in my life. Absolutely brilliant harmonies! Being a musician, and if you are I know you'll relate, when I close my eyes to go to sleep, there's always a song running through my head. Many times its a song I've listened to by the Wailin' Jennies. Their version of "Wildflowers" inspired me to cover it in my show. You need to book a show at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA.

@JPort64 I first heard of Wailin' Jennys by listening to the radio. They play on Prairie Home Companion every now and then, and they're on most NPR stations - check your local programming for folk music show times. They're on Sirius/XM on the alternative folk channel too.

You don't have to listen to radio to hear this wonderful music. Just download Pandora and join the future. You can choose what music you want to hear. I listen to Pandora every day and throw my radio in the trash. It would take a hundred years for any station near where I live to play the Jennys. With Pandora I can hear them every day.

@eibhlinb Thanks for your comment. I seem to have trouble getting comments to post unless they are one sentence. I can hear them on the radio around here. Have been for at least 3 years. We just have to listen, support the stations which carry the music we like, and don't listen to the junk. They are on our local college station which is as professional as any of the commercial stations here. Thanks to dshorock for posting. Good clarity in viewing and sound.

Please post info on stations that play music like this in your area. Spread the word, and others may fall in line with what we love to hear! I was introduced to The Wailin' Jennys a couple of weeks ago with one of their new songs (When the Storm Comes?) on The Penguin 98.3 out of Wilmington, NC. Can't wait to see a performance of that song here! Love TWJ and The Penguin for bringing them to my home!

Yes, but it's in 3/4 time signature, so chords, melody, and feel don't matter... because it's super different.

Beautiful! I really like this group! Where can I find the words and chords to this song? I think it would sound good on my autoharp. Do I need permission to play it? Bill

I only know "Avila" as a town in Spain known for the Catholic St. Theresa. I can't find any other likely connection with this song. Can anyone enlighten me?

try sending their stuff to Radio Paradise, he's cool, he'll pick them up anyways ps: check out Lucy Wainwright Roche, same kind of purity (no harmonies though! yet....)

Yes...they are well know on "Prairie Home Companion" and around folk circles but alas, the marketing powers that be who cater to the low common denominators of the average media listener will ignore them and instead continue to supply cookie-cutter dance/angst dribble. Along this line, just listen to the lyrics of Todd Rundgren's " Soul Brother" where he complains about the demise of real soul music ...
