For my avocado toast, I take an avocado and a can of chickpeas and blitz them together with lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste. Then serve on toast with a fried egg. It's delicious and lasts all week!

theloveandlogic it's about as pretty as regular smashed avocado lol mandi me is right - lemon juice does help it keep its color. When you store it, cover the avocado with lemon juice and then press cling film onto the top. It won't stop the oxidizing, but it'll slow it down :)

EMitkus of course this would be the "propper" way but if you just have a small piece of bread left and you want to soften it a microwave is much better :P a whole loaf or half loaf gets better with the oven if course but if you are gonna toast it anyway it doesn't matter :P also she said she is a student and may not have an oven :)

If you put the eggs into the water (whilst in the shell) and stir them around for 15-20 seconds it gives them just enough extra firmness to help them cook when you crack them in. Other tips are, use a deep pan, so that when the eggs enter the water and sink, they cook as they drop; it also gives them a wonderful shape. Finally, USE FRESH EGGS, it makes it so much easier. With these tips you can totally bypass using vinegar and/or salt (which people can use too much of, ruining the eggs).

I must take offense at your avocado slicing game. #1. Use the butt of the knife to take out the pit. Just sharply cut into it and then twist and it'll come out with the knife. #2. Slice the avocado while its in the peel. Then you can just squeeze out the little cubes or slices of avocado into your bowl
@anti-ethniccleansing465
3 жыл бұрын
Nope, you need more work on your game too lol. Cur it into quarters before removing the pit, and peel the damn berry. No need to hack the put out with a knife, or waste flesh. The best nutrients are nearest the skin, so you want as much of that as possible, and the skin should just slide right off easy. This method also helps in easily cutting off any bruising oddities.

I've heard its determined by your genes - some people, like me, can't stand coriander, and others love it. And some people can't smell freesias (my heart bleeds for them) and some can't smell asparagus pee (my heart does not bleed for them). I always have to check if coriander is in something - if it is as soon as I get a whiff of it my face goes "dis-gusting" and my stomach threatens to revolt...

Avocado is such a glorious thing. You can never have too much of it. It can go with pretty much any sort of cooked breakfast. It's just legendary. Add it to BLTs, add it to toast (honestly a light bit of Vegemite with it is so amazing), stick it on the side of your bacon and eggs... one of the true fruits of the gods.
