Bonus Tip #1: If you notice your scalp is itchy right around the time you retighten your locs, you may be doing them too tight! Doing one less rotation will give your scalp room to breathe and will definitely save you from a balding scalp later on! Bonus Tip # 2: If you have tried these tips and you are still having issues, it may be time to visit a professional who will be able to treat whatever underlying issue that may be causing your discomfort. KZitem is great for general information, but a licensed professional is always your best bet!

My hair is far from dead fibre. It's a living organ and will remain so for many years when I leave this earth!! Food for thought.

I love the coloured tips on your lovely hair. Had you dyed your hair before putting locks or did it after? I will put microlics on Saturday 8 July and l pray they will look like yours. Awesome.

Great tips! I’ve learned that sulfur 8 medicated grease completely gets rid of any itchy scalp. I use it after every retie and wash .

I use Sulphur 8 shampoo and grease on my scalp as well. If I don't, my scalp flares up really bad and a I feel like it's on fire. I've had this issue even before locking my hair. One of the reasons I chose micro locs is because I wanted to be able to clean my scalp more efficiently. @KerryBellum Beauty maybe try the Sulphur 8 mild hair grease, the smell is not as strong as the original. Also, thanks for the tips. I DEFINITELY NEED to work on drinking more water.

It's a tapestry needle that came as part of a sewing kit I bought! The plastic ones are also available on amazon or at any fabric store
