I’ve had the same issue for years and then recently tried scalpicin after washing hair and getting out of the shower with special attention to the areas right at the skin/scalp border which is where it would be worse. Now I can go days without washing my hair whereas as before my scalp would start itching, burning, and flaking by the next day after showering forcing me to shower again.

I solved my dry scalp problem by going back to sulfate shampoos and washing more frequently (twice a week as opposed to once). This forced my body to increase sebum production.😁 No more dry scalp that plagued me for years. I use Kerastase.

After delivery, I noticed my hairfall but I remained calm. I took action to to control it. I opted for a health-centered strategy. I took care of my nutrition, having vitamin-packed foods, specially those high in Vitamin E and Protein. I worked out regularly and practiced yoga for stress management. I avoided styles that pull on my hair and quit using heated hair tools to prevent hair stress. I even started using LittleExttra's Coconion shampoo, hair oil along with a neem wood comb. The outcome was hairfall control and the recovery of my hair.

Girl we all loose hair after delivery. It has pretty much nothing to do with how good you take care of your hair. Birth is actually at fault here. Birth takes up so much energy that our body uses all resources available and all and every thing that takes up energy that is not vital, will be put to a hold. Including growing hair. And after a few weeks after birth all the hair that stopped growing will fall out over the next months. That's the post partum hairloss and no amount of care will stop it. Nevertheless what you did was great in helping regrow that hair faster and healthy ❤

I have a lot of dandruff which I think is caused by dry scalp, not sure. But it isn't caused by fungus or yeast because I henna my hair a lot and use hair oils with essential oils that kill fungus and yeast. I actually get MORE dandruff if I wash my hair LESS. The dandruff only goes away if I wash it MORE often, and only sulphate shampoos can get rid of if, sulphate free shampoos don't get rid of the dandruff.

I really don't know why I got dandruff but I find I can only use LUSH solid shampoos. If I stray away I get dandruff. If I use LUSH solid shampoos (any one works fine lol) I can go a whole week without dandruff. So beats me why it works or why I get dandruff (without LUSH shampoos) but if it works, it works, and I'm sticking with these shampoos. BTW I have no connection to the company LUSH except I have to pay a whole loada money every time I buy their products, just like everyone else does.

I've been looking for an answer to dry scalp (not dry hair) and depending on your age, this is caused by low estrogen or thyroid issues (both hormonal). If estrogen or thyroid is not your issue and you have oily/dry scalp, go with a dandruff shampoo for several weeks then maintain once a week. If age related but no thyroid issue, go with anti-aging/anti thinning shampoos. Good luck.

Hi Jennifer. I used to wash my hair every other day because of dry scalp flakes and it caused itchiness and excess oil production. Now my scalp does not itch and I can go two weeks without washing my hair because it does not produce flakes or excess oil production during those two weeks. I started overnight oil treatments for my scalp. I use fenugreek, rosemary, tea tree, neem, and castor oil all diluted in coconut oil. I massage and leave this in my scalp overnight. Then I use Calia shampoo, all organic ingredients with no sulfates, and conditioner. They also have leave in conditioner too. And boom, dry scalp gone. Itchiness, gone.

The only (!) thing that helps me with this is schwarzkopf bonacure scalp genesis anti-dandruff. Every time when I thought “okay I’ll try another shampoo” when the bonacure bottle was empty.. the flakyness came back (little wounds on the scalp and everything). Even when trying the new shampoo for longer periods. When I’d eventually switch back to bonacure, the flakyness would always go away within a week! I am actually going through the same thing now, since I’ve started using Redken Volume injection (because it was on chris’ recommended list). So I ordered the bonacure again, and will try to combine it with the one from Redken (because I do want to keep trying the one from Redken). Okay, so, VERY long story short (sorry😂) you might want to try bonacure if you haven’t already!

I was using the Pulp Riot Boston/Singapore protocol, which was fine and I recently started using the Redken Volume Injection protocol so that I could blow dry my hair, with the heat protector spray, and I started getting some pretty serious flakes. Help! Should I switch to the coarse hair protocol? Would that make any difference? I feel like I'm borderline coarse anyway. I can sometimes go nearly a week between washes with dry shampoo, usually need to apply that around day 3. I washed my hair yesterday morning and the local school district is gonna call a snow day on my account.

Hi, wondered if things have improved for you. I noticed since doing the shampoo on scalp and conditioner mid length caused flaky scalp. Then I dyed my hair amidst having flaky scalp and used the hair oil that comes with it. Completely took away the flaky-ness! So I'm going to trial conditioner wash on my scalp too as I think my scalp would prefer that. Will continue the protocol as normal in and amongst his recommended routine. Wishing the best for you.
@JenniferSPugh

@@PS_ItsMe I stopped using the Redken and it’s mostly cleared up. But then using the Pulp Riot, it takes a few days for my hair to smooth out even with conditioner and oils. :/ I think once I run out of all of this shampoo, I’ll try the protocol for coarse hair and see how that goes. It’s hard to find the smooth and shiny but not greaseball sweet spot. For me, it’s like Day 3 after shampooing and lasts a day before I need to dry shampoo the roots.

Washing your hair in hot water is bad That's not good for your hair at all and also don't wash your hair everyday You're stripping your hair of it's natural oils making it worse I would say twice a week. Look into apple cider vinegar
@1ove1y.spr1te_4
Жыл бұрын
I am not sure what you mean by that, because style it how? I style my hair almost every day but i dont wash it everday and its fine. Also if you are styling your hair then you can volumise it and use cold water. Hot water makes ur skin drier and washing your hair everyday strips essentially too much because as said in the video its only for when your hair is dirty. So i would suggest training your hair and trying lukewarm-warm water. Not hot

So, I changed shampoos and my conditioner to the pink Redken ones that were recommended for my hair type. Things were going good, but I’ve noticed that along my hairline at my forehead and in my side burns, I’m getting very flaky. At my hairline/forehead it’s reddish/pink. The buildup or flakes at my sideburns are thick. I air dry and use the redken shampoo and conditioner, the pureology leave in, and oloplex hair oil. I also use the clarifying redken shampoo when needed. I don’t do any styling, since I work from home. I just brush with a wet brush and air dry. I’ve been trying to go as long as I can between washes, but in two days, my hair is limp and greasy. What am I doing wrong?

Since you're primarily getting flakes at your hairline, is it possibly linked to your face products? (Just a thought) As far as your hair being limp, my hair is the same type as yours & I use the same products. What I found with my hair is that if I air dry vs blowdry, it will be limp. Blowdrying gives it volume & lifts the roots off the scalp where they'll get oily faster. I also don't put any products on my scalp, or the roots of my hair. Only shampoo & dry shampoo touch that area. I know everyone's hair is different, but that's what worked for me. Hope you figure out what works best for you.
