The problem I've found with smaller projects are that I really don't know what I want to make after the real first basics, because I just am not as interested in certain type of games, and it's been very hard to compartmentalize the bigger projects into small, cause they are usually too complicated or only part of a larger system. And it's hard to get into those because of scope also. Luckily I was able to piggyback off of a random friend idea just to finish something and then use an idea I had to implement it in the game so that it kept me going but I'm not sure what I'll do after I'm done with that.

The "focus on your target audience" advice really only works if you're being paid while you develop, so I'm glad you're encouraging new devs to not let that bog them down.

Dude thank you so much for your great videos. So you perhaps have any videos on gathering? For instance an axe, pickaxe and scythe and how to setup the collisions etc and also swoping them. Let's say on a 2d farming rpg. Again thanks for all the videos you already did!

Great video, I do think you could pull Godot from the title to reach a bigger audience since it's about all game development, I'm starting on Commodore 128 game dev and it applies, I'd have to rewatch to be sure but it probably applies to tabletop game dev too.
