A nice video, it is hard to found microcontrollers fundamentals as wellexplained on the internet.

This is Great!! I was fine with just knowing the mnemonics! But Fundementals are even better! Pura CALIDAD!!!!

Great video! Do you know if there is a bit which determines which format (4-,6-, or 8bit) is being used? In other words, is it possible to decide which operation needs to be performed by looking at the first 4 bits?

the common about these formats is that they handle a pair ,in on shunk of fetch

Excelente video.

I expected R12 to be encoded as 01100 not 11100. Which one is correct and where can you look it up? Does Microchip really expect me to test this myself?

Yes, R12 should be encoded as 01100 not 11100. That threw me too but I assembled the same instruction to prove it out. But to the OP, great video! It is very helpful!

Yes, great lessons! There are two minor mistakes: a) In the example No.1, the place of bits 7 and 8 are reversed in the Format definition. b) The example No. 2 is Format 3 (not Format 2).
