What a glorious sound and ever changing texture, this is a brilliant work! Adams and the Rotterdam Philharmonic gave an excellent performance, faithful to the minimalist’s pure vision. With Adam’s, Riley’s, and Reich’s magnum opus we have lasting legacy from the 1980’s which will live on forever!

Wow, three of my favorite modern composers on one bill. If I'd been anywhere near the Netherlands I would've had to go. Also, thank goodness they aren't all masked.

What a great concert (great orchestra, too). You have to admire Adams' brilliant orchestrations in Naive & Sentimental Music, though the piece could perhaps do with a little fewer notes...

Reich and Adams: marvellous! What a contrast to the cheap kitch-music of Glass! I can't imagine that John Adams and the Labèque-sisters really believe in this music...

Define the term 'kitsch'... it's so easy to dismiss music one doesn't like as 'kitsch'. I do agree the Glass work got the least inspired performance of the three works.

Eh, I "get" Phillip Glass, too. But I can understand why others don't like it, find it too simply harmonized and propelled by elementary rules of addition and subtraction. I think he's a really meditative composer.

Adams, Reich: this music is a mirror of today's society... in some way vacuous, superficial, empty... other opinions certainly welcome 😉

Exactly and people have tried to represent the whole soundscape of our world in every detail and facit, so what's odd about that?
