'Sunyata' it's not 'nothingness' - it's the fundamental lack of essence, so it's not that there is no universe but that the nature of that universe is in a constant change... So there is nothing to grasp to, to cling to, and realizing that it's the 'nirvana' or 'liberation'...

At 30:00 he is asking about a near dissociative state. When he said that he was in a emotionally removed place where he couldn't feel a sharp fear or even joy, that is a change in the ego, where it is no longer the top- down ego processing of reality but the ego is instead more diffuse. The SELF is not experienced in the same way. It sounds like a diffuse state of consciousness and the fact that he was in it for over a year was alarming.... It would be great to address this more

Regarding the question of negation as core philosophy - as opposed to positive construction - it dawned on me that the notion of nothingness in Eastern philosophy could actually be a complement to a potential notion of somethingness in Western philosophy: Whereas the focus in Asian religion and philosophy tends to gravitate toward "accepting the Void" - Nirvana, Samadhi, Mushin - the idea of striving toward the Void may be inherent in the Western mind - specifically in the Faustian concept of pursuing the Eternal Feminine. That would give Western philosophy an inherently male push, while it would mean that Eastern philosophy possesses a native femininity - the natural object of the male push -- the Mystery. This in turn would reveal what I suspect many thinkers secretly assume: that West and East complement each other, and are in fact, in harmony.
