That looks amazing. I used to like watching this aircraft a lot in my teens in the early '80s. I'd often sit on a nearby hill here in the UK where I used to live and wait for a couple of them to regularly fly close up below my elevation at super slow speed. The pilots were easy to see. They were lovely and quiet too, unlike the Hawker Harriers that took the same route.

If you liked this one with a 7k battery, you should try the freewing AL37 airliner model. I have a handful of flights on mine and I love it. Recommended battery is a 5400 MaH but the 7k gets you about another 90 seconds with good throttle management.

That's actually pretty long for EDF'S thanks to the larger battery. I get 3 1/2 to 4 mins with most of my jets. I get long flights in my gassers but it's a trade off for the performance and flight of a jet that isn't a turbine.

You would never put some of my planes in the air then. My most expensive one is my Mibo A-10 that I have around $22k into... but man is it a blast to fly with those real turbine engines. I also have the quad 90 mm EDF hsd Jets 747 which cost real close to 4K out of the box, but then I added all metal gear servos, flight stabilization, and several cameras. With the batteries, telemetry unit, receiver, upgraded servos, etcetera, I'm putting 15 year old Camry money in the air every time I take off.

Do you need a FAA Part 107 license to fly them. It’s obviously over 250 grams and the FAA is pretty finicky about anything that’s in the air. You could fly it for recreational purposes, as in this case, but you would still need to register it given its weight.

I have a question about EDFs while practicing on Real Flight Evolution. I was playing with the A10 among others and I noticed that when I bank left the model begins to nose down and he’d to the ground. When you fly these in real life and banking at you giving rudder to exchange for elevator? I am still very new I don’t get a lot of real time flight due to no car during the week and bad weather so the UMX Turbo Timber sits.

Some of my planes do that as well. I believe it is because the wing area that is HORIZONTAL, and therefore able to cause lift, decreases in a turn. A little bit at first. Imagine a knife edge, wing is straight up and down. NO LIFT from the wing, at all. I can compensate for that, on the planes that I fly, by adding up elevator. However, this is NOT the general solution. For a plane which is more prone to stall, giving up elevator in a turn could easily result in a stall, and in that attitude, the worst possible stall. A better solution would be to add a bit of power. Not a lot, you'll need to play with it. And then remember to back off power, or you'll climb after completing the turn.
