Thanx for your video! I will buy the 4 string version "Harley Benton Enhanced MP-4EB Lake Blue". I usually play the guitar and this will be my first bass! Love the blue color and I´m curious about the sound.💙

It’s a great bass for not a lot of money! In person the blue finish also has a slight glitter sparkle to it

A guitar player playing bass like a guitar, so you're basically like Paul Grey of Slipknot, because he never played bass till he joined Slipknot, as he was always a guitar player who took what he learned on guitar to bass 😁

Interesting piece of gear... any idea about the weight??? I just can't find any info on this...
@LeighFugeGuitar

Yeah it doesn't seem to list the weight on the website, not sure exactly what the weight is but it's a fairly heavy instrument. It's not the heaviest bass I've ever played, but it's a pretty solid weight.

Can you tell me what guitar strap you use with this please ? it weighs 11lbs and hurts my shoulder

I'm just using a regular Ernie Ball guitar strap. it is a heavy bass. I'm not playing it stood up for long periods of time, but i if you are doing that I'd suggest looking into a padded strap of some sort.

A mono betty is padded pretty nicely! There’s also a strap from Lekato that’s pretty nice too

I had one, never liked it. Frets were sticking out, was extremely heavy and I wasn't able to get proper intonation on B and E, I guess bridge was too close to nut. Sounds were ok, that was not an issue.

Are you still happy with the bass? I need an inexpensive 5 string bass with stainless steel frets as I'm allergic to nickel and this is the cheapest I've found. Do you still recommend it?

I'm happy to confirm that I have done over 100 gigs with this bass since I got it 2 years ago. It's been great to me the whole time and plays really great considering the price it sits in.

@@LeighFugeGuitar Glad to hear it. I bought one and received it today. I'm very happy with it, a little on the heavy side but I don't mind. It was set up and ready to go but I removed the nickel strings and put stainless steel on it.

Can’t tell if that hum is the bass or your lights
@LeighFugeGuitar

It’s neither, it’s caused by a grounding issue with the power outlet in my studio that I’ve been working to fix. I recently moved house and this house is older and has a few annoying power issues.

I bought exactly that same bass and it makes that same noise, I've played in several places with different cables and the noise is always heard. I think it's a construction problem, I think I'll have to send it to a luthier to shield it.

If I could chime in, I have never had a Harley Benton guitar/bass with shielding in the cavity. Once I shielded all of my guitars, TE-52, ST-52, and this same bass, the noise went away. It isn't a bass issue, just some places are unlucky with interference. Trust me, just copper shield it and the noise disappears like magic. The noise on mine was caused by a transformer at a power plant about ~2km away from my apartment lol.

Yeah, it wasn’t ideal… it was a grounding issue in that studio, which I mentioned in the video description. That studio was a temporary one between house moves and had a lot of issues with the power which I didn’t discover til after videos had been shot
