Andrew of @antrc came over to lovely sunny Wales again recently, and of course it absolutely hammered down with rain as soon as he crossed the bridge and didn't stop until he left. Obviously I'm not blaming Andrew, even if in many ways I am, especially those ways I find personally convenient.
Despite the tree-levelling havoc of Storm Andrew we actually found a brief time, just before sunset, to go out tiny trucking. And it was ace! Yes it was a bit chilly (I won't say cold as my Canadian friends have the copyright) and no, there wasn't much light if you were a camera, but anyway. It was great fun to drive about in stupidly tiny cars with Andew again.
The fantastic Range Rover is his - and really, it looks brilliant, with a deep, lustrous 70s paint finish that's EXACTLY not like anything BL ever managed to sputter from a misfiring robot gun. That might be the only scale detail that's wrong... that and the lack of rust, of course. But if you restored and gently modded a classic Rangie now, this is exactly what it would look like. Brilliant job, Andrew.
Unfortunately my camera didn't like it nearly as much as I did, and a lot of what I filmed turned out to have an awful, stuttering frame rate. I've still included some of that (sorry) as I'd have barely anything otherwise... I didn't even film the RR that much, as me and Storm Andrew film so differently it doesn't really work when we combine. I should have got him to drive through some of my shots just for my camera, though - I regret not getting more footage of it. I mean, just because he was a guest doesn't mean I couldn't have put him to work, right?
Anyway, to cut a short story long, sorry for the disappearing Rangie and the general lack of visual quality... time and conditions were against us. It was really fun though. Get out there in the mud!
Oh and merry this, happy new that, seasons etc and yours sincerely, yes? Yes. Good.
