Fantastic video. Thanks. Does it also perform updates or hard delete to a particular primary key record? Can we do with governed tables?

yes possible. Please check this link provided. Please keep in mind that governed table works with S3 only. link - docs.aws.amazon.com/lake-formation/latest/dg/governed-tables-io.html

I checked again in detail, It appears that it supports only object level updates and not row level updates. It’s still not there yet to support row level . Hudi seem to be the option to go until aws governed tables support row level atomicity

@@harishurgent you are right. The transaction is at object level. Basically, it rolls back object and schema update if any error comes.

thanks for sharing. it is a great video. Since Governed table does not support UPSERT and seems complex to configure, my gut feeling it is not widely used in real world. but Lake formation is good for ACL and data governance. I see you have another video of Iceberg, do you plan to have new video for delta lake with aws glue? thanks again

Thank you again for another great tutorial. I'm not using Lake Formation at the moment in my data lake as I need to deploy to production using CloudFormation. Have you done deploying Lake Formation using Infra as Code? If so I'd be very grateful if you could share your experience. Thanks

You need both Lake Formation and Glue CloudFormation. I have not used CloudFormation for these two services but I have seen CDK in action. CDK works very well with these two services.

Hi AWS Tutorials - Awesome video thanks. I have a use-case of centrally delete a row based on column value. Can I use LakeFormation for the same. If yes how?

@AWS Tutorials- One quick question- I was trying to read a CSV file in glue using spark dataframe and writing it to parquet. Although, I've specified header as true, I'm unable to see column names in parquet(while querying from S3 select). Kindly suggest !!
