Can I just say, you have formulated these videos beautifully. They are brief enough to answer the immediate questions the viewer has going into the video, and detailed enough to allow us to understand the concept in depth. well done, wish there were more tutorials like this around!

Hi Adam. Great video. Regarding using General Purpose V2 storage, I am working on migrating a few hundred TB worth of data into archive tier in Azure storage. Cost difference per AZ calculator is 3x for General Purpose v2 vs BlobStorage so that's one reason to go with BlobStorage kind.
@AdamMarczakYT
4 жыл бұрын
Maybe you've put something incorrectly into the calculator. V2 is cheaper than blob storage (which is just V1). Microsoft always charges less for new services to encourage move to the latest ones. Remember about data box service to transfer all of that :)

Hi Adam, First of all, thank you so much for such a great video..I have a question, What is the type of underlying disks(standard SSD, Standard HDD etc) used for these storage accounts?
@AdamMarczakYT

Thanks Adam. I checked this documentation earlier, I couldn't find details about "standard" performance tier but it is mentioned for premium tier as it use SSDs..
@AdamMarczakYT
3 жыл бұрын
@@ridhulrajar6765 I saw that mentioned somewhere but sometimes it's just hard to find this info. Probably needs a little googling, but from my perspective it doesn't matter. Because Microsoft specifies performance targets and limitations from the storage accounts so why I do care how they store it internally :) I just care if they meet the given specification docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/scalability-targets-standard-account?WT.mc_id=AZ-MVP-5003556

Great tutorial. I was following your instructions in creating containers with public access level for "Blob" and I could see that I could access the individual blobs from my browser. However when I created a public access level for "container" and I get a uri for it under properties and try to access the container with my blobs in it from the browser, it gives me a resource not found error. I understand your example was only to access blobs, but I need public access level at container level so outsiders can access any blob within a public container.
@AdamMarczakYT
3 жыл бұрын
Hello, thanks! Please note that blob storage does deliver container browsing functionality via URL, that's why you get 404 resource not found error. You need to connect to it using a tool like storage explorer to see files in the container. Please be advised that in 99% scenarios blob storage should never be set to public access.
@Sarah2005u
3 жыл бұрын
@@AdamMarczakYT Thanks much. We are trying that people wont have to use storage explorer to see their files in the container. They can only see the files listed in the browser. So if I get a URL like this in the browser mydummystorage.blob.core.windows.net/publiccontainer, it gives ResourceNotFound The specified resource does not exist. RequestId:5847111d-a01e-0074-24f8-fbab1d000000 Time:2021-02-05T19:49:25.1919989Z Is accessing files from the browser even possible? I would imagine that if one can make a container public, it should work in the browser too right?

@AdamMarczakYT

Many technologies allow reading JSON files right away so no need for any intermediate storage. You can use data factory to put it into some database or directly read and transform JSON data using mapping data flow feature of data factory. The company's migration plan states that only platform as a service (PaaS) solutions must be used in Azure. You need to deploy an Azure environment that supports the planned migration. Solution: You create an Azure App Service and Azure Storage accounts. Does this meet the goal? A. Yes B. No

Also how would you configure windows server to make blob fuse mount something similar to linux. How can you provide permission to Blob directories or files out side of AD. Thanks
@AdamMarczakYT

Public endpoint (all networks) means no firewall is set up. Public endpoint (selected networks) means firewall is on so that only selected IPs/private networks will be able to connect. Private endpoint means firewall is on but only private network access is allowed. i.e. in this option public URL for blob won't work anymore. You get private endpoint like described here docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/common/storage-private-endpoints . Thanks for watching! :)
