This was the first record by BB King I ever heard. It came from an open window on the ground floor across the college lawn and I stopped in my tracks, went over and asked with awe: "Who is that man, playing?" 😂 "Oh, that's BB King. Have you never heard him?" I was 18, always a blues fan, but I somehow hadn't. Since then not a record, not one live performance slipped by.

An American Treasure. One of a kind, so incredible when you take in to consideration everybody and his mother tries to play the Blues, thinking it's easier than shredding a guitar or doing the Jazz thing. Sorry Stevie, Eric Clapton, any English invasion bands don't even come close. If that intro doesn't make the hair on the back of your neck stand up, check for a pulse OR a brain wave. Mr. King is an AMERICAN TREASURE.

I gotta tell ya though....Jimmy Page, Keith and Rory Gallagher (Man, I miss Rory ) got it. Riley B. King was born on September 16, 1925,[9] on a cotton plantation called Berclair, near the town of Itta Bena, Mississippi,[10][11] the son of sharecroppers Albert and Nora Ella King.[11] He considered the nearby city of Indianola, Mississippi to be his home.[12] When Riley was 4 years old, his mother left his father for another man, so the boy was raised by his maternal grandmother, Elnora Farr, in Kilmichael, Mississippi.[11]

Haven't heard this for a while, but tonight (Jan.9th, 2014) Amy Goodman played it between segments on Democracy Now. Like revisiting an old friend. Reminded me to forward it to my son and daughter.
