Imagine doing this 7 times a week for 365 days... This can't be sustainable. Not everyone needs to eat scallops....

8years ago i went to visit the same port and they had 10s of similar ships bringing in 5~10tons of scallops EVERYDAY, no way the ocean floor still look alive

You have no idea what you are talking about. This is sustainable, and has been since the 80s. They use the method called sowing. It means they release tons of small scallop every year, and harvest it 4 years later. Along the coast of sea of Okhotsk, japanese fishermen catch like this 300,000-320,000 tons of scallop every year.
