i would love to see how the inside of one of your tents or homes look like on the inside! Is that what you call sherpas?? Luv the music/culture/scenery!!
@Hill Cat, you have to understand pro-mongol does not equal to anti-han. Mongol culture is treasure of China so it should be cherished by Han too. The author Xi Murong is very pro-Mongolian culture, but she is never anti-Han. Most of her works promotes Han culture she has done more works for Han than many many Hans combined. Saying this song is anti-han is completely baseless.

LOL the Mongols were great warriors, but they had no clue how to run an empire or govern properly. I don't think I am exaggerating when I say they have left pretty much ZERO influence on modern day Chinese culture/language...instead, they were assimilated into the Han Chinese culture and adapted to its language. Chinese influences have always been very far flung through trade, not conquest...if you look earlier into history China has had plenty of trading posts around Central/Southern Asia.
My father spent his youth time in Inner Mongolia during culture revolution. He always tells me stories of inner mongolia and I have been there several times since I was a kid. My mom said once I came back to Beijing from mongolia with a very strong Mongolian accent. I remember it. I was with a lot of mongolian colleagues of my father, and I stayed a lot with a mongolian girl who's called Panpan. I have very strong feeling to Inner Mongolia. Like every song, like the land. Vive La Mongolie!!!

Oh My God!!! I didn't know that he already died. So sad
Just amazing. Beautiful song, beautiful performance. I found that I can not listen modern western songs anymore. The form (in part of action) substitutes the content and melody. Love Mongolian, Korean, Chinese, Russian songs. Thank you Asia!
Tears ran down my face like rain when I first heard this song--deeply touching. This is a sentiment shared by all Chinese and even all East Asians. It also struck me that, despite all talks about multiculturalism, there is only one kind of music--pop music in the US. By contrast, China seems to be aware that all minority cultures would be eroded by pop culture if left alone to themselves. The Chinese thus organize many ethnic music concerts and competitions to keep alive the folks songs of different ethnicities. Even more strikingly, I heard the songs of different ethnicities being played on the trains quite often when travelling in China. The folk music of different ethnicities is thus kept very much alive throughout China. I myself grew up singing different ethnic folk songs from China without knowing that they belong to different Chinese ethnic minorities.
这是蒙古族风格的顶峯之新创作,布仁巴雅尔唱得感人肺腑, 聲樂技巧胜任有余, 好作品, 好演唱, 好制作.太好了. 刘如霞4/4/2013/ usa

Lyrics translation: My father once described the fragrance of grassland Let him never forget at the end of the world Mother always likes to describe the mighty river Running in Mongolia Plateau, my remote hometown Now I finally see the vast land Standing on the fragrant grassland, my tears fall like rain The river is singing the blessing of our ancestors Bless the wandering children Find your way home Ah, father's Grassland Ah, mother's river Although I can't speak in my mother tongue Please accept my sorrow and my joy I'm also a kid from the plateau There is a song in my heart There is my father's Grassland and mother's River in the song Although I can't speak in my mother tongue Please accept my sorrow and my joy I'm also a kid from the plateau There is a song in my heart There is my father's Grassland and mother's River in the song There is my father's Grassland and mother's River in the song Mother's River
