Actually this is one of the best solo's I've heard, he keeps them running smooth and interesting unlike couple of world class professionals I've seen and heard. And his fills are insane.

Yeah he's the drummer, but he's also the whole band. Not only that, but he won the Roland V-Drums World Championship last year. This is no ordinary drummer, he's a rythmical genius.I've seen him myself in Oslo, and he's just wicked.

Luk Hann In den meisten Städten sind Schlag- und Blasinstrumente grundsätzlich nicht erlaubt. Zumindest da wo ich bisher war. Einerseits ist das schade, andererseits kann ich das auch verstehen. Weil es manchmal schon nervt wenn es alle 100 Meter laut wird - und die Musiker sind oft nichtmal wirklich gut :D

instrumentenfreak das kann natürlich sein, ich komm aus berlin, da ist man etwas toleranter und kann sich in der Fußgängerzone auf 100m fußweg schon mal 5 verschiedene Genres anhören 😁

Maybe because it's rude to interrupt him or the crowd by walking in front of him in the middle of his performance. What most people do is listen until he's finished, and then give him money (watch the last 10 seconds of the video closely ;) )

No its not only the best drummer in Norway. Its also one of the best in the world. He was picked out as 1 out of 10 from the whole world to compete at Roland v-drum contest in2012 and he won.

Akro2000 That is true, this guy has the technique so he probably won't burn that many but some metal drummers and other in some bands that likes to move with their arms alot does get some exercise(Especially their deltoids)

@@MalFunktion2024 Honestly he's not that far up. He's definitely in the range of being one of the most, if not the most influencal prog metal drummers out there. It's hard to put a definitive of "THE BEST" because every drummer ever has some own special flavor to them. But Baard Kolstad's complex playing has gotten him far and I wouldn't think people saying he's one of the most technical drummers out there today would be wrong. This is 7 years ago aswell. He's currently in Leprous.

I did a drum solo in downtown omaha and the cops confiscated my drums. Me and my friend had to sneak it out of the police van and into his truck and then we ended up going to spaghetti works :D

What's happened to drummers these days? It was a decent display of technique but I felt like a goldfish! Every 30 seconds he slaps the groove out of me and goes onto something else. Good drummer, not very great. And before all you people shit on my head, I actually am a drummer, and I can play better than this. Good on him for getting out there with his shit though.
