Baba Nahar Singh is the famous deity of District Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. Also known by other names like Wazia, Veer and Peepal Wala. The temple situated very near to Main Bus stand and can be reached on foot in 15-20 minutes and by taxi or car with in 15 minutes. There's a big Banyan tree in the premises under which the temple is constructed. It is also very near to Gobind Sagar Lake. Legend says that the temple got built by then Raja Deep Chand relocating his capital from Sunhani to Bilaspur (Vyaspur) and also settled a town on the bank of river Sutlej in the period between 1655-1665 when Raja Deep Chand got married with a girl of Raja of Kullu, Baba Nahar Singh ji came to Bilaspur with her and Raja got made his Khadaun (wooden slippers) and place them in the temple. Therefore in the temple Only Seat and Khadaun of Baba is placed and people bow before them believing Baba is available here in air. The temple of Rani Kulluvi is also constructed here. In the year 1964 the town settled by Raja Deep Chand submerged in the water of Govind Sagar and a new Town was settled. But the temple was in tact at old place. In the month of Jaisht (May-June) People thronged in thousands on every Tuesday in temple and also Langar (community Kitchen) is available between 0830 hrs to 1430 hrs. You will see He goat there which were offered by devotees to Devta. Facilities like wash room, toilet and drinking water, space for keeping shoes is also available. You can take a rest for sometime as a small children Park is available here. Recommending to visit to take blessings of Baba Nahar Singh ji and enjoy. It situated midway between Chandigarh and Manali. Can be visited Gobind Sagar Lake easily and Picturesque Hilltop Bandla. Thanks
