Back when music had melodies! I was a big fan of this band. They were very popular in the province of Québec. A music review wrote, many years ago, that the band was ahead of their time - based on their below average popularity, especially in their own country.

Interesting comment. I’m Scandinavian but came to spend 16 years in Belgium. My greatest (among many) benefit was getting access to the French channel MCM (I think). This channel gave me the opportunity to acquaint myself with plenty of music with middle eastern and Asian roots as well as music from Eastern Europe. It opened my eyes to the limitations of cultural imperialism as exhibited by MTV and their extremely narrow focus. I fell in love with the music of Babe Ruth back in the early 70-ies. A great time for music.

Black dog up and sniffed his plate a-steamin' on the stove Kids ain't seen you home all day, you're a gentleman born to roam Black dog don't believe in sin Think of where the black dog's been Think of where he's been today Have you seen the black dog's teeth, sharp like a knife? Have you seen him tear apart a throat, to take a life? Black dog don't believe in sin Think of where the black dog's been Think of where he's been today Have you seen the black dog's eyes starin' in the fire? It would not occur to him to question your desire Black dog don't believe in sin Think of where the black dog's been Think of where he's been today I've always had a fear of creatures cryin' in the dark And every form of evil seems to bear an evil mark Black dog don't believe in sin Think of where the black dog's been Think of where he's been today My man lay beside me and my black dog's at my feet He keeps me from my wanderin' life and he robs me of my sleep Black dog don't believe in sin Think of where the black dog's been Think of where he's been today Now I don't know the black dog's name but when I call him he will come How'd I ever get that black dog? Lord, he's shown me what he wants Black dog don't believe in sin Think of where the black dog's been Think of where he's been today Black dog don't believe in sin Think of where the black dog's been Think of where he's been Black dog don't believe in sin Think of where the black dog's been Think of where he's been

The most Evil song other than Stairway to Heaven. Evil by Semitic followers of Christianity. Being aware that I am Mollyn Droat of Celtic descent I am at 1 with Brigit and Cernunnos . This song captures my Tuatha de Dannan heritage, the legend of Death the Black Dog is the omen , a premonition of the 1 you love the most to die . Stairway to Heaven was a song about the May Queen a vigin who willingly laid down her life to become the bride to Belenus the sparkling. The lyrics If there's a bustle in your hedgerow don't be alarmed now it's just a spring clean for the May Queen tied it all together. The Beltane ceremony involved setting the Hedgerows ablaze , and of course the May Queen was the beautiful girl chosen to be at 1 with the Solar God . It's pretty ironic that 1 of the Druid Worship songs would become such a mainstay in pseudo Christian society. Unfortunately Babe Ruth. - Black Dog never became the overplayed AM FM ? Radio staple that Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven became. Both songs were influenced by Celtic folklore, both songs deal with Death, but Black Dog is just Death and despair, Stairway to Heaven was Death to improve the weather. Ironically Led zeppelin had a song entitled Black Dog from the same album which unlike the Babe Ruth song of the same name had absolutely nothing to do with Celtic folklore
