What peace and grace you showed, laboring alone in the closet. What a gift you gave to Ro not to scare or rush him, to have him walk in and see the dream come true. It sounds like almost a spiritual experience, meditative and solitary. I hope this birth has been a balm of sorts for the trauma of the c-sections. Thank you for sharing your story with us!

Hi. I've only been following you recently. I'm a midwife in Tasmania. Going by the short stories of your previous births it sounds like you made very good informed decisions. The trauma of a failed spinal is real! And devastating. The choice for a GA sounded like the best option for you. I am so impressed with your awareness of your needs combined with the care for your unborn baby's wellbeing. You clearly 'cook' your babies for 42 weeks plus. It's normal for you. I was on the edge of my seat listening to your birth story and cheered when you had your VBAC!!! Congratulations! A beautiful story and a beautiful baby. Well done mum x

When I tell someone about your channel, it’s because I want everyone to be inspired by you and Ro as parents. I say, “if there’s anyone who should be bringing more humans into the world, it is these two”. Your kids are a shining example of what gentle, open minded, and positive parenting can do to change the world.

I hear you, the same thing happened to me with my first baby, emergency c section, epidural didn't work, felt the cut, got put under, lost lots of blood, blood transfusions. Very traumatic. Second baby they said that they couldn't guarantee it wouldn't happen again so I went under straight away. Definitely better recovery but it's a grieving thing to not be awake at the birth. 3rd baby was at a different hospital and another cesar however they said they are going to try to do better testing so I could be awake and praise God it worked and I got to be awake and hear my last baby ( first girl) cry for the first time. Best Ceasar experience and I'm so thankful for it. So awesome that you could your VBAC! Glad you and all the babies are well after such Rollercoaster experiences. ❤

I'm sure to lots of people being left alone in a tiny room would be scary but I'm sure that calm/quiet helped your body feel safe to go into labour. I spent parts of my labour with my second alone and found it much easier than having my husband and midwife hanging around.

yes it makes sense, like I've never had a baby yet but I know the way I deal best with many hard things is being alone with the idea no one is watching me or cares what I'm doing, I find it reassuring and especially in a situation like that where there are threats and unpleasant things that could happen. I can definitely see how that's helpful, of course I don't know what I will need but I want to leave the option of being alone and unobserved for sure

I am only 18 and sat through this whole video because I am in awe of your resilience, Chloe. You are such a strong human being and you really just inspired me. Not that I am pregnant or have any kids but it's just so impressive what you and your body went through and yet here you are with the biggest smile taking it all like a champion. I am so glad Birdie decided to suprise you but even if she didn't. You would have still taken it with all your strength and as you said. You were just as fine with the C-section if she did not come on her own. I am so proud of you and just admire you as a human being, Chloe. Keep going Queen! You rock!! What a riveting story! WOW!!! So beautiful! I was hanging onto every word hoping that you would get your wish to have her V-back. You are so brave and thank you for sharing the fact that although you've had 9 babies now, it has not been easy! You're a strong woman and a fantastic mother! I feel like I have just finished a beautiful novel that ended in the best way. Although, having Row there would have been even better. But life isn't perfect and you gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby (almost on your own!), and you are healthy too. I wish you, Row, and your wonderful children all the very best Chole.

How wonderful that she came into the word naturally. Hi Birdie. Thanks for sharing that with us. It's unconscionable that the hospital would put you in a tiny room with no windows or bathroom, and no overseers. But it worked out in your favor. So glad. Thankful for your midwife, who could be there. My sister was 10 months, and both of mine were early, and waters broken by the doctor. Babies seem to have a mind of their own. She's beautiful, and seems like she and you are doing well... so grateful for that. You made it! Yay.

Amazing story. I'm a midwife in the UK and I LOVE when women remain the driving seat, informed maternal choice is everything. Yes there are risks and it's great you were aware of them but ultimately it's your body, your baby and your decision, you had a plan which is smart and you found providers that supported you. I feel so happy for you that you trusted your body and your baby and that every turned out well xx

I’m so grateful to Chloe’s midwife for telling her it was ok to push! With my first, I think my midwives might not have felt confident telling me it was ok to push when I felt ready, and I’m certain I held my daughter in much longer than I needed to! I think I was ready about 3 hours before she was actually born because perhaps my midwives didn’t believe I went from 4cm to ready-to-go so quickly, and they asked me to “avoid bearing down to prevent swelling.” With my second, one of the midwives the same, I told them I really felt like I wanted to push and once again, when they checked me earlier it was only 4cm, but this time my midwife told me it was ok to push if I felt ready. Both babies born with perfect ease, and no damage! Many times (not all times), our bodies really know best when it’s time to go.

Dear Chloe, I have been following for a long time, before the triplets learned to walk, and I was rooting for you to get your vbac with the twins, and I was very sorry to hear that it was anothet traumatic cesarian. As a fellow cesarian baby, I just wanna tell you how thankful I am to my mom, and you, and all other moms who make this difficult decision and go through this traumatic event for the sake of their babies. I am super glad you got your VBAC with little Birdie. I can't imagine how scary it must have been to be so close to another cesarian.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful story of lovely Birdie’s birth! You never mentioned if you delivered in the closet. I was wondering about the doctor and other midwives reactions also. I had 7 babies, (one in heaven, 17 days old, unexpected) First two in hospital, next two Home births, a planned cesarian that was traumatic, and 2 VBAC that were very good birth experiences. My last one i had 2 contractions and arrived at the hospital at an 8! I was 40 years old then. That child is now twenty. They were all unmedicated(except the C-section of course) I have 3 grandchildren. Babies/children are a blessing!

Dear Chloe, i had tears in my eyes, You are such a strong woman. I had a c-section with my 1st daughter and it went realy well. I am sorry for your experience. We tried a home birth with my 2nd daughter, but without a present midwife, after nearly 24h with contractions and after the c-section I had have not enough trust in my body. So, I feel you. We went to the hospital and the midwife told me, everything was fine. My daughter came within 2 hours and it was realy, realy hard. So good, that your midwife was there to support you. And birdie decided to come just on time. You are both blessed!

I had my first set of twins vaginally. They were my most uncomplicated and quick delivery, but my second set I had similar issues to your twins. My baby A was breech, baby B was transverse and my Dr would only do a c section after I had already delivered 6 babies naturally, it was difficult. My epidural didn't work either and I was in so much pain. It was very traumatic. I'm sorry yours was difficult also, those births that don't go well are hard.

I completely understand all your decisions around avoiding a C-section and I'm so happy for you that you found a supportive midwife who did everything she could to get you your VBA2C and who arrived at hospital just in time!!
