Melisa, so sweet of you to do this for friends. The mother-to-be was happy and it was a joy to watch her delight. BTW, she was a stunning bride too. 👶🍼👼

You’re my FAVE design channel! I love everything you do 🩷 I might consider moving the name up above the board & batten when the baby can stand and grab but it’s soooo lovely!! 🥰 your friends are lucky to have someone like you. I always tell my husband (who watches with me) where do I find friends like you!? 🤣

Gorgeous! Love the taupe paint color. Smart to remove the popcorn texture. The name sign and little book shelf are perfect. What a nice thing to do for your friends.

So many good thoughts on this: 1) It's like one of those things an artist does and people think it was easy or quick but in reality it took so much work and not just because it had wait time such as for drying 2) I find so many times I think something is easy to do and in reality it takes a week of hard labor because of findings and fixings. So many times I've now have to add "unknown time" to my plans as I learn more skills-which may include some mistakes on the first try. The worst is having to go back to the store mid-project. 3) I am so impressed with how you work because it isn't a usual DIY project cutting corners but instead made of going all the way to do it according to standards alongside design. Doing it right and safely helps a future worker see what was done and how to fix things. It is difficult to find something where you have no idea what the previous person designed to do or if at all. Maybe everyone has that happen when things get replaced a decade or more later. You seem to show you can and do learn how to do the smallest of details without cutting corners unless necessary. 4) I would trust giving you my projects because you don't break rules and I know you go all the way unless it is a need taking you away. 5) How blessed you are with such close friends your age. Some moves make it hard to find that without more effort. Although they do live far huh?!

3M makes mounting tapes in various strengths. From a tape to hold up your Evelyn to a tape to mount a metal sign on the side of a commercial truck and stay on during heavy storms while traveling down the highway at 100 miles an hour for years. Nice way to honor your friend and her new stage of life btw.

Babies start seeing color around 3 months. Child Development research shows contrasting colors important for intellectual stimulation, and primary colors for development. Maybe the toys and accessories can provide some color by the time the baby needs it for optic nerve development and cognitive growth.

Babies don't live their entire childhoods in their nurseries. It is fine to have calming colors where the child sleeps and stimulate them with the rest of the world.

Nice work. Very kind of you, your friends are fortunate to have you in their lives. A word about the humidifier. Great idea, but they must be cleaned regularly, or mold will form. A humidifier with mold can stress one’s respiratory system.

Nice job Melissa! Very sweet of you. Remind your friend to open her windows a lot or turn on an air purifier with hepa filter following remodeling. A lot of construction materials release formaldehyde and other toxic gas we are not aware of. You are such a beautiful sweet handy woman

You did a nice job of the room, but I am worried about the decoration around the crib. The way babies grow and put everything they can get hold of in their mouths I am worried that she may get a leaf of the crib and choke on it when she starts moving around.

Children need colour to help with their development. A beige on beige room may be your style for the rest of your home, but its selfish to be this boring & bland in a kids room.

Are you for real? There are toys, books, etc that are colorful. Especially for a newborn, I would argue the mother’s sense of comfort and calm with a neutral palette is paramount to the baby’s visual stimulation on the walls.

We probably live in one of the most colourful times in history. One beige room isn't going to stunt their development. Children will have their colourful toys and art supplies, and (hopefully) access to the outdoors were they can observe colours on full display. They'll be fine!
@libertyvilleguy2903

This is a “selfish” color for a nursery? Perhaps the most ridiculous statement I’ve ever seen, anywhere. The room looks great. The child will be just fine. Please don’t comment on anything ever again.
