I have a herd in my backyard that I take care of. They are the sweetest animals ever. They eat apples from my hand and are so gentle. Too bad people here in Texas kill them for sport.

Please do NOT feed peccaries or anything that is larger than a bird or a squirrel. Not only is it extremely illegal, but they will inevitably associate humans with food, and this will likely lead to them being killed, as they will become 'nuisance animals' that may attack humans upon not being feed.

All these lone piglet might be separated from mum wild boar (either attacked by predator OR SHOT DEAD)..leaving these piglet roaming alone in the woods - easy prey for any predators

This is not even a pig. It's not even related. It's a peccary.

They can be, though from my experience, their reputation is nastier than the reality. They spook easily and are very protective of their young, and if they feel threatened, can seriously mess you up, but they arent super aggressive If they've got piglets with them, be very careful. If you have a dog with you, get out of there before they see you (if possible). If it's night, be very careful to not startle them. If you see just some adults during the day though and you dont have a dog with you, they probably won't bother you. Ive had squadrons of them get pretty close to me before, and as long as you make yourself known but dont do anything that might scare them, they might get close to inspect you out of curiosity, but will probably move along.

they don't get mean, they get territorial. they can roam around in packs of 12-80 and like any other pack animal they patrol and defend a territory. they also can breed pretty much year round as their source of food is literally everything, which means they often have babies or teens around them all the time. my dad used to hate them because they would eat plants and knock over garbage cans, but then he started feeding them scraps and now they are pretty docile.
