I love your videos. I have followed your directions and my tack down and placement stitches are not showing up as saved on the machine but the satin and candle wicking are. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thank you!

Have you saved each individually as you create them? Make one at a time and SET them in the embroidery side of the machine? Once you do this, you’ll have the whole stitchout, placement, tackdown and decorative stitch in order. I have several videos covering applique. Search my name and applique and they’ll all come up for you. There must be a step that you’re missing, but not seeing what you’re doing I can’t be sure. Please do let me know if you still need further help. I’ll do a video on these steps specifically for you.

I would love to see the lesson done where you show all the steps of actually embroidering… from placement line, to tack down, to adding fabric, etc…. I understand what you are saying when you list out the steps for finishing the project, but I’m a visual learner so seeing it actually helps! Thanks!

I think, to clarify, is that I would love to see an actual appliqué done from beginning to end, just to see the process… I am a real newbie, so sometimes the terms confuse me and then that translates into not fully understanding the process to complete a project on my Solaris 2..

Hello Margaret! I will do a video for you creating and stitching out an appliqué. I’ll do a simple shape w no embroidery so you have the steps. 😊 Thank you for reaching out and for the suggestion! I love knowing what people need and how I can help!

Can you add satin stitch to a pre purchased line design?

If you add a satin stitch you would need software. If you have IQ you can add it there as well.

I tried doing this and it came out so thick that it caused puckers. I have a friend who tried it with the sdestiny and same thing. So thinking about this we are wonderring why this happened.

Hi Linda! So you created an applique on your Altair? I’m sorry to ask but KZitem doesn’t give me a connection to the video you’re referring to. I’ll assume for now that that’s it. So you made a placement, tack down and satin stitch? The first two have to be designated with the straight stitch. This is the button right next to satin stitch. It has two lines. Is that what you used?

@@melindabigleysewblessed yes but why was the candle wick stitch also added to satin stitch. Thats what made it so thick

@@melindabigleysewblessed there are many people out there demonstrating BL, I was just wondering. BTW Babylock machines are the greatest. Total game changer. When they first offered to show me I thought 'well how good could a sewing machine be?" Exceeded expectations. PS You are a great educator.
