Baby Lou's birth is the most moving moment in her life: Sina (20) and Janne (23) are new parents now. Since little Lou had the umbilical cord around her neck several times and had made herself comfortable in Sina's stomach "wrong way", i.e. in a breech position, the two decided to have a planned caesarean section. Up until a few hours before the birth, expectant mothers Sina and Janne were still in action. After all, around 170 animals have to be cared for every day at the sanctuary in Gerhardsbrunn in the Palatinate.
Because their love of animals knows no bounds: old, sick, abused or abandoned pets find a new home with them. For the young couple, life with animals is both a hobby and a dream. Animal welfare is a huge topic for them, to which they devote a lot of time. It is important to them that others learn more about species-appropriate animal husbandry, for example on donkey hikes or at children's birthday parties on the farm. In addition to donations, they finance the upkeep of the animals with the income from the events.
Janne and Sina have been enthusiastic about animals since they were little. Janne wanted to do something with animals when he was a little boy and is now a veterinary assistant. Sina has just been accepted for a place to study psychology.
They have opened a cat boarding facility on the farm and want to expand animal-assisted therapy in the future. They also take confiscated and tortured animals to the adventure farm: in addition to the dogs, there are also chickens, horses, ponies, donkeys, cows, sheep, goats, cats, rabbits, turtles and even raccoons.
Janne and Sina can no longer imagine life in the city and are happy that baby Lou will also grow up as a real village child. They see life with all the animals in particular as a gift for their daughter. When Janne moved to the farm in the small Palatinate village in 2018, it wasn't easy to start. But in the meantime the two have found close friends and supporters in the village, including the neighbor girls Emily and Lotta.
