As I've aged, my cycling speed & distance have declined. 20 years ago I found this unsettling. Now I'm thankful that I get to do this & regard cycling as my reward for life.

That’s good for me to hear from somebody else. I keep trying to ride the distances I used to, and I keep hurting myself. I have to learn to listen to my body and enjoy the process.

I'll have to pick up this book, it sounds like it just might be the thing to wrap up what has been an unusually difficult year.

That book was a revelation for my endless questions of why I rode my bike great distances years ago - my younger willingness for type 2 fun. Like you stated we are built for it. Persistence driven hunter gatherer tribal groups is part of all of our past relatives.

I WISH I had been able to find something that was fun to keep me in shape, before I returned to cycling in my late 40's. I'd have a different history, with less drama.

MMD!!! Fall is really underrated. Ribs are a great idea! (Got me a little envious). Thanks for the book recommendation…but I won’t be running anytime soon😂
