Former D1 swimmer here! Once your eyes pass the T on the bottom of the pool get ready to flip, keep your face looking down and use your eyes to find the wall by looking up. Also you can practice turns by doing a forward roll on the ground close to a wall and then landing with your feet on the wall. Your legs should be at 90° with your feet on the wall and your back on the ground. You can throw you hands and arms into streamline over your head too if you’re feeling fancy.

A tip for flip turns, start by going slow into the wall, when you fingers touch the wall flip then. Once you get the flow down, stop touching the wall and flip. It will start to feel natural and you won’t have to touch then flip anymore, you will just learn to flip.

I used to swim before covid and whenever I was in good shape the flip turns didn't seem that big a deal bc I just got used to the rythm and I could kinda subconsciously guess the distance where I needed to take a breath. But yeah, when I wasn't that used to it, I was always in my head about when I should breathe.. it's weird to see others do it so effortlessly 🤷🏻♀️
