That’s Right. East Tennessee & Western North Carolina #12 (A.K.A Tweetsie Railroad #12). That engine is still in operation to this day.

Sure wish Bachmann would build Rio Grand Southern number 20. You guys would sell a lot of them.

Dimensionally, it's not far off from the existing Big Hauler. If they changed the smokebox front, crosshead, tender, and headlight, and used the wood-style cab, it would be a pretty decent stand-in for 20.

This model reflects both standard- and narrow-guage 4-6-0 Baldwin light ten-wheelers from the late 1910's, many of which had 200 PSI boilers and Walschaerts drive controlling slide (rather than piston) valves - a set-up which I think the most field-maintainable action for steam. Had the original Virginia & Truckee ordered a #28 from Baldwin, it would have resembled this model as executed in standard gauge.

Bachmann makes a 4-6-0 in HO scale that's about as close as it gets to a standard-gauge equivalent to this. It's based on Maryland & Pennsylvania #28 (the prototype no longer exists but it's easy enough to find photos of it).

This was when Tweetsie 12’s Baldwin whistle had that dent in it that made it sound all weird.

I wish it was still feasible to get this train, I went to Tweetsie RR all the time as a kid, so this is very nostalgic!

This is a cool G Scale 4-6-0 “Ten-Wheeler” model of many kinds. I have remember watching this KZitem video along with Part 2 back when I was a little child. So you were recording some of these video shots in the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum (Back before the 2003 Roof Collapse of the Museum’s 1884 Roundhouse).
