Thank you. I do not have any of the older stuff but everything on the new Dash 9 is useful and I would send an email to bachmann technical letting them know and including a link to this video because they want to get in front of any customer concerns and you've done a nice job pointing out and solving one. Thank you again love your channel new to G but a long time model railroad enthusiast.

I already reached out to Bachmann, that's how I got to the bottom of the issue and was able to make this video. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for being a fan.

An interesting idea of the individual possibilities of the analog drive of the new Dash 9 from Bachmann. Even if I only drive DCC. Very nicely filmed and presented. Thank you for showing me.

Wow! Usually when I think of Bachmann I think of trains that look toy like. No, I am not down on them because they introduced the hobby to millions of young kids like the old Tyco trains did. This large scale Dash 9 is impressive though! I wasn’t aware that Bachmann made such locomotives! I really like it! Hopefully they will do like the real Norfolk Southern and offer an AC44C6M as well!

Ive heard that certain manufacturers made their locomotives run on the aristo pwm/pwc, other manufacturers didnt account for it. I saw a test where pure dc made motors run cooler than ones ran on pwm/pwc.

I encountered problems trying to run a Piko Camelback with an LGB transformer and someone told me I needed to get a PWM circuit board to connect between the transformer and the track. Now I know why.

Very informative video. Thank you. I have made the plunge yet for the Dash 9 or even my power source yet. My intent is to purchase a RailPro system. If I use track power, how does the RailPro do with PWM vs. linear? Anyone know? If it requires linear, then it seems like it would be fairly easy to either get a linear power source or converter if I end up with a PWM source.

Glad you found it helpful! As far as RailPro and PWM that's a good question! I haven't heard anything one way or the other on that.
