Those odd brakes you showed are self adjusting wedge brakes There is a push rod that gets pushed in with that brake chamber and the wedge forged on the end forces the shoes apart for applying brakes. A lot of big fleets of the past (CF, Transcon, and Roadway)all used them on all their equipment. Bill

That’s werer the frame needs most of its strength so it doesn’t crack from the stress of the load pushing down on the 5th wheel

If you could find something to lay on you could’ve got under the truck with a 9/16 wrench and hammer and just backed the slack adjuster’s off 🤷♂️

We tried that. It has been sitting since 1996. It not moving. lol I think you underestimate my commercial truck experience. I’ve been adjusting brakes since I was 20. Just enjoy the video. Thanks BPT!!
