And whereas Elizabeth Shue doesn't really participate in any of the BTTF anniversaries or reunions because she feels she's the Jennifer Parker stand-in and the true ownership of the character belongs to the original actor, which Claudia Wells has been attending the reunions and fan cons which has been immensely fulfilling for her as she now feels its made up for the years of disappointment having to forfeit her role not appearing in the sequels.

Just to note that Marty’s “chicken” problem is because George isn’t such a wimp anymore. In 1 Marty was afraid of rejection because his dad was, but in 2 and 3 George is successful and probably taught Marty not to be a doormat like he was, so now Marty is afraid of people thinking he’s a wimp. The “ripple” that almost erased Marty in 1 during the dance caused this change in personality after he got back.
@warbird333

You never made the connection. Biff doesn't look in his rear view mirror. He tells George that his car has a blind spot. He crashes the DeLorean into some trash cans when he steals it and backs it up. There is no blind spot. He is just a bad driver.

The reason Biff doesn't hear Marty is that Marty isn't yelling as I think you mistook it at. He is talking at a level very close to a whisper, in the back of the car, while from Biff's perspective you have the considerable sound of the car engine AND the loud music of the radio going! A lot of people make the mistake of assuming that the sound mix that we as listeners hear is what Biff hears, but that's not the mix from his perspective. Marty is only loud in that mix so that we as the audience can hear every word.

The script for both Parts 2 & 3 was originally titled "Paradox", and Bob Gale wrote most of it, because Robert Zemeckis was busy with "Roger Rabbit". In Gale's original version, the 1955 scenes were actually set in 1967, his ideas being George was a school professor, and Lorraine maybe a hippie activist. The third act of "Paradox" took place in the 1800s, and both Zemeckis & Gale realized the story had gotten away from them. Also, Zemeckis felt that since Gale's story was more focused on the "altering time" concept, it would more challenging but also rewarding to revisit the events of the first film, but from a different angle. This led to a bad news/good news phone call, that Bob Gale had to make to the heads at Universal. He told them, "I can't have Part 2 ready by Summer '89, but it will be done by Christmas. And then after that, I'll have Part 3 ready by Summer of 1990." The execs supposedly told Gale, "We don't want to hear about a Part 3! Just give us Part 2!" As a result, Zemeckis spent about 3 weeks flying between between the Western set in Sonora, going to the editing rooms at Universal, supervising the completion of Part 2, then sleeping at the Sheraton and going back to Sonora the next morning. Even now, he says he feels the second film could have been better, but there just wasn't enough time to devote all his attention to both films.

There are two funny things about the future prediction of the World Series. The Cubs were notorious for having had a long losing streak, and here in this 1989 movie they were predicting a Cubs win in 2015. That actually happened in 2016. And the other thing is Marty being confused by the other team being Miami. There was no Miami baseball team back then, so it was also thought of as a prediction of an unknown future. But the Florida Marlins were created in 1991.

I always find it amusing whenever reactors sounds surprised that they end up transporting to the year 2015. The Doc literally said in the last movie that he would be time travelling 30 years ahead (from 1985) into the future. Which would of course be 2015.

I'm giving a pass on not hearing him talking into the walkie-talkie in the back of the car, because we are meant to understand that the volume level is intentionally emphasized for OUR benefit, the audience. He's not "screaming" into the walkie talkie. It is meant to be kind of quiet, but artificially turned up enough for us to hear it. Also, convertibles aren't as popular now, so people forget how loud all of the road noise is in a convertible. So with Marty talking quietly at the back of the back seat, Biff still might not have heard it. The mirrors I have more of a problem with, because that doesn't even take active looking. Your peripheral vision would notice an object moving out of the corner of your eye, especially when it is that big and close in your back seat.

Somebody else had already already made this point, but the producer and the writer and Director of back to the future all said that Marty was whispering very slowly and we had a radio on plus a 1950s car is very loud. The only reason we understand him was because they had to do that so we could hear what was being said. It was the way they did it and it had to be explained in the movie. The only other thing that that some people asked about this this movie was finding the cane in the DeLorean. When Biff went to the past and changed everything and when he came back to the future and he disappeared, which is in a deleted seen the cane should have disappeared also. Minor mistakes can be forgiven. I still think as a lot of people do is this is the best trilogy ever made. Only Star Wars trilogy comes close.

These sequels were not originally planned. After the success of the original film, Bob and Bob kicked around ideas for a sequel. Checked out who was willing to reprise their roles. Crispin Glover was out, so his role was minimized and they used a combination of long shots, a lookalike actor in a mask, and archive footage to cover the dad role. As folks have pointed out, Claudia Wells could not return for personal reasons. The role of Jennifer in the sequels was minimized as well. Parts 2 and 3 were shot as one production and centered on the Marty and Doc relationship. They did show those Part 3 previews at the end of Part 2 in theaters. And after its theatrical run, part 2 was released on home video the same week that Part 3 hit theaters. Smart marketing. Imagine re-creating all that 1955 stuff three years later, with as many of the original bit and background characters as you could round up, without having planned to do so.

They released Part II in November of 1989 and Part III in May of 1990. I have my own theory as to why we never got the flying cars by 2015 as shown here in part two but I'll wait until you've seen part three to tell you because it involves a spoiler to part three.

Somebody should have told you to avoid that preview at the end. Or you should have turned it off.

Of course Principal Strickland had a drink. A lot of people in the education system drink, you'd have to to cope with dealing with children & teens on a daily basis. And it was legal for him to drink, unlike Biff. Btw, it seems like all of the comments have missed that one of Biff's 3 lackeys was played by Billy Zane.

50:38 should have been the thumbnail lol. Also I guess no one warned you guys that the ending of this movie has spoilers for the third one. It doesn’t show too much though. Look forward to part 3!

If you guys ever react to music, and come across Nightwish band, the female singer looks similar to you. Her name is Floor Jansen

By the way, and I need to remind you that this movie was made in 1985, it is a well documented fact that Robert Zemeckis modeled Biff Tannen after Donald Trump. In 1985.

No point in watching the last one when you saw all the spoilers at the end of the 2nd one! Guess nobody warned you...

great reaction. also, the trialier doesn't really give the plot at all. but you will love the third one too

Exactly. It sets up and hypes up the third one nicely. Sadly there are still people out there that actually recommend people to stop watching before the teaser.

@@Karadjanov i don't get it either. they say "spoiler" but not really. i mean no different than any other trailer from the 80s just happened to be after the film instead of before
@Billinois78

@@Karadjanov That's because some reactors really like going in completely fresh. Some don't give a crap, some do.

@@Billinois78 That is bull.. They are going in completely fresh because nothing was spoiled. But I guess it is pointless arguing with a moron.

4:53 I have seen a number of reactions to this and you are the first who seem to have noticed Doc is exactly the same - another running gag over all three films. In film 1 he made a comment about his hair - but that was unchanged too.
