Hi Chris. Noticed over the last 6 months that the Volvo is making more hydraulic noise. Next time you are at CAT getting parts, pick up a bottle of their hydraulic oil conditioner. I think a 16 oz bottle treat 100 gal. It magic in a bottle. Elevator companies use it to quiet down noisy cylinders. Enjoy the content. Thanks.

When raking with the dozer, try starting at the outside of the field and go straight until the dozer is full and then make a quarter turn to the left, dump the blade, back up a few feet, and continue pushing only the outside of the pile until the blade is almost full and the make another quarter turn to the left. Keep repeating this all around the field. Every time you back up it will only be for a few feet. If you're backing up, you're losing money and so keep that to a minimum
@arthurjennings5202
2 жыл бұрын
Looks like the blade is a little too short. I guess you could weld pads on the top of the blade and bolt on a brush guard to keep the brush on the far side of the blade. When I worked for a land clearing company in the 60s, we had a specialized brush blade that had an open grate brush guard that was above the radiator of the tractor when the "rake" was on the ground. We could push a pile higher than the tractor.

Liked this clearing video, and especially the time you spun around to knock off the brush hooked over the top of the blade. Good move. Also like, as I am sure you do, when you get a good pile in front of the blade that just stays put and you can push for a good, long distance. Smooth, clean job.
